I appreciate the poll but feel the need to ask this just to be sure it's brought into consideration~

I don't personally bother with nurturing competitions but wouldn't breeding cool downs resetting at midnight all at once give an advantage during nurturing competitions to those players who are available at midnight vs. those who have completely different timeframes (say those who are only able to nurture later in the day). Those midnight players will always be able to nurture the newest critters first at the earliest convenience of their making possibly allowing them more nurtures then those who can't.

(I don't know if this is a possibility, just a passing thought I had.)

I wouldn't think it would have a huge impact. Players who already try and utilize the breed->nurture tactic for leaderboards I'm sure already keep pets on standby anyway and probably aren't really restricted by the cooldowns. The biggest issue with that is just players breeding in the last ~10 minutes before a contest ends and this change would have no impact on that at all.

Contests always end at midnight, so the cooldown change regardless would give players the entire 24 hour period of the day to nurture whatever pets were mass nurtured at 12:01 AM of a new day. Now, if contests ended at like 1 AM or something, then yea, there'd definitely be some concern.

But I don't think it will have much of an impact.

Is this going to decrease, or increase the average cooldown time of pets? If you normally breed at noon, they'll be available a half day sooner? Or a half day later?

Decrease. You could think of it more like this. When you breed, your pets will pick the midnight between 48 and 72 hours away from when bred. So if you always do them at noon, they will be ready at midnight 60 hours after bred - and then sit there idle for another 12 hours till your usual noon time.
Functionally, its probably more of a "3 midnight cooldown" instead of a 72 hour cooldown. Once three midnights have passed, they will be ready again. Even if one of those midnights is in 10 minutes.

At midnight tonight, the breeding cooldown change will take effect. So for example, any non-Fabled Female who breeds at any point on Sunday will have a cooldown that lasts for 72 hours from 12:00 AM Sunday - in other words, they will be able to breed again once it is Wednesday.

Female Breeds on 10/11 at 12:00 AM: Cooldown resets Wednesday at 12:00 AM.
Female Breeds on 10/11 at 2:00 PM: Cooldown resets Wednesday at 12:00 AM.
Female Breeds on 10/11 at 11:59 PM: Cooldown resets Wednesday at 12:00 AM.
Female Breeds on 10/12 at 12:00 AM: Cooldown resets Thursday at 12:00 AM.
etc...

(Obviously, for Fabled, the base Cooldown is 168 Hours instead of 72 Hours)
