"Why would they be in a situation in which they need to sew?" Leah mutters under her breath. "You don't get worried about him just... disappearing like that? Like, what if he disappears and just doesn't come back? Would you care then?"

Dinner, as it turns out, is pretty simple. Sheperd's pie and....salad. Which works, in a way.
And a big basket of fruit, because apparanty according to your mom, "A nice neihgbor I met gave me some from their gardens and wouldn't let me refuse so i'll be making her some brownies to thank her and her daughters."

After the delicious shepherd's pie (it is very good, i love it) and salad, I help clean up from supper then ask my mom if she needs any help with the brownies

It doesnt take long to make the brownies and by the time you finish its stille arly enough to go drop them off. Your mom leads the way to a house one street over, which seems to be somewhat connected to the large Marker property.
