Not having fun with this fest. I was really looking forward to it, since last winter was the easiest to find the specific pet catalysts due to the snowman exchange, and for once I was able to make exactly everything I wanted. Not so this year. I've gotten a grand total of one frost essence of the correct type. No one has any to trade. It would cost 2400 tokens to get each one, pus all the additives which are also overpriced.
I feel like you overshot 'value' and went straight into 'scarcity.'
I applaud the decision to add default value to avatar items so they no longer drop to valueless and simply take up space with no good alternatives. I disagree with most other changes lately, but at least that one is a step in the right direction.
It just feels like everything is way out of proportion this festival. Items cost so many tokens, but then tokens are very slow to accumulate. Even nurturing nonstop for hours only gets me a few hundred. Nowhere near enough for even a single guaranteed sylvorpa essence, much less the dozens I'd need to guarantee getting the right traits.
Disappointed. Winter fest was one of the best last time, but now it's the most annoying.

What happens if the sculpture isn't finished before the festival ends?

New starting with the Fall fest a few months ago, you lose it completely, unfortunately and annoyingly 8\. So no finished sculpture, no pet 8[.

There will be a two week period after the fest ends in which your pet has time to finish growing. If it is not done by then, which that is enough time to grow mostly by itself I think, then it will disappear. If it is done but not harvested, Krin will harvest it for you and it will be added to your hatchery.

I've got a hatchling that, when he's old enough, will be set up as a stud. He isn't for sale or trade, keeping this one.

Good to know. Been having registry issues so most of my computer time has been taken up with fixing that.

Congratulations to the Season 1 Winners for Snow Wars!
Season 2 is now active and will run through the end of the Festival, 1/26.
For the Rating vs Players Leaderboard, everything has already been reset. However, for the Rating vs AI Leaderboard, players must manually reset their ratings in order to be eligible to place. This gives players the option to either keep their current Rating to continue farming Tiers and work towards the Task Log rewards - or to reset and compete for Season 2 Leaderboards.
In order to reset your Player AI Rating, Wage War against the AI and before selecting your AI Opponent, there will be red text and a red button at the bottom that says, "Reset Player AI Rating". Clicking and confirming this will reset your Player AI Rating and make you eligible to participate in Season 2's AI Leaderboard. THIS IS AN IRREVERSIBLE ACTION! So only confirm this if you are okay with your Player AI Rating being reset.
Additionally, here is the full Leaderboard Contest Schedule for the remainder of the Festival:
