I was thinking that maybe you could add defects. If so, you should also add the ability to breed family, but there's a high defect rate. I f you do this you should add a warning that they're closely related, though.

This suggestion gets no support from me. Breeding projects already take a long time, especially max stat and super stat projects. If we could no longer breed child to grandparent or cousins to each other without worries of 'defects', a process that already takes several months to over a year could end up taking twice as long, or more. Also, the cost of projects (which are already expensive) would go through the roof. Instead of being able to do projects with three pets to start, you would need significantly more to make sure that they weren't related closely enough to make those 'defects'. And.... projects are already sold at a loss most of the time, so this would just make that worse.
So.... while it might be interesting for those that don't project breed, it could be massively detrimental to project breeders en masse.

I believe Mika already said everything on my mind about this. Projects (both trait and maxed/super stats) are a massive pain and expensive. If we add these defects it would skyrocket the cost. Instead of 300k to 1m for a maxed stat you would end up with a 2m to maybe even 4m price range.

agreeing with the above, and what could a defect even be?
Pets already have 'mutations' as possible traits and which are desired not derided- and some other major alteration to the base art would be way too much work when they're still trying to revamp the remaining species.
Making it a detraction from stats would make a mess of max stat projects (you would likely need a ridiculous number of progenitors and prisma philters to have pets distantly related enough to not impact it)
If it was like "chance of losing a trait" or something it would be a severe problem for people breeding for traits and could cause a project to take literal years instead a few months to ~1.5 years (depending on number of traits)

This recieves some of my support. I think defects would be good but ONLY child to parent or vice versa. The effects would have to be low, too, or else who knows what could happen...

Children are not allowed to breed to their parents or siblings, as a game mechanic. If you are suggesting they be allowed to simply to make defects possible...it seems like unnecessary work. Uncles and aunts, yes. Cousins, yes, hence max stats. I think Sylestia might have one of the least restrictions on inbreeding among fantasy-type petsites, but then again, project pets and max stats would be quite crippled by this.

I would support this if I knew what 'defects' are. If the defects were appearance defects, Mana fighting stuff defects,or mission defects, but if it affected breeding and the children, then you get 0 support. I recommend something like an appearance or mana thing, like the face looks weird or the Mana can't get to a certain amount.

No support. Breeding alreadybkmes with he chance of getting a bad result when project making, dont even start on color swings, defects wouldn't add much more then an annoyance. Itd also behaved t implement" what counts as something that could have a defect? If a pet is bred to another that are related distantly on one side and not at all on the other would that give a defect? More pets would have to be bred for projects and theres already an overpopulation.
