I'd like to call this gene snow twinkles! I did it with Photoshop- hope that's acceptable. I'm new at this image uploading stuff so hope it works...

I wasn't sure about this idea when I started, but now that I'm done I love it and want it to be reeeal.

I call it Snowfall, like it was standing outside and got snowed on.



This one is based on the Aurora Borealis and was entirely Savynn's idea, although I made the images. She made me post it to get credit. :P


It uses color 2 (blue in this) and the gene color (cyan in this) to get the aurora effect. I also did a color-shifted example with color 2 as a dark red and the gene color as bright yellow to test combos, which is here.

Since the Starry Sky/Galaxy gene has been submitted to be done it's probably not really valid for the participation prize so I finally made a couple new genes. Might try to make another one.

Ryori - Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard isn't exactly connected to Winter but it is an animal heavily associated with snow which is heavily associated with winter. Looking at pictures, I found out that snow leopard rosettes are very irregular and it doesn't seem like any individuals look quite alike.





Ryori - Hearth

I tried to stay in the lines but I didn't do well. I made this design thinking of fireplaces. My mother and I used to sometimes sleep in front of a fireplace on cold winter nights when I was little. I always loved how beautiful the flames were. Fireplace doesn't sound like a good name so I'm thinking "Hearth" would be better.






Ryori - Starry Sky (Possible better name would be Galaxy (to fit with the Nebula))

I ended up selecting colors for the Ryori first since I wanted it to show up better. (This has been paid for so no longer qualifies for the entries.)

Hello everyone. I'm seeing some nice posts in here! I especially like the galaxy and northern lights ideas. I actually had some along those lines as ideas too, but executed them differently. I'm so glad people enjoy looking up in the winter as much as I do, so I am really looking forward to seeing more~ Well, onto my gene~


I call this one Aurora Markings. In this I was inspired by the Northern Lights and the wind. The smooth, single lines make me think of the movement of wind, or a single condensed streamer of the Northern Lights. It then branches out at various points into a much larger mass of the Northern Lights.

I will post more here if I come up with any other ideas~ I hope everyone has fun!

Arctic Mane



Not my favorite pet, buuuuut I do like this species... land I LOVE ice manes for some odd reason... so I thought I'd make one.

I'm sorry if it looks a bit sloppy... It was a very roughly drawn idea and my first time ever actually drawing an ice element.
