My Horrible Poem:

A shadow is there for the light, writhing
A light is there for the shadow, pulsing
Burn it away, fierce and sudden
Cover it up, hidden forever and ever
Now there is nothing for eternity.

My Poem For The Day

We are cold beneath the dark fire,
We confound large rays of light,
Falling from the red sky,
A dream.
We reach towards the rain,
The rain that burns all in its path,
The storm clouds a dark grey,
As thunder rolls from the heavens,
Evil and dark behind those grey clouds,
They smear lustful thoughts,
Through the minds of mankind,
Awaken. Our insanity is dying,
For sin is no more,
The unseeing eyes,
Seeing the light for the first time,
To what end is their rein?
For the sky's cry with red tears,
and the clouds growl with hunger.
The hunger to feast,
On the rays of the sun...

Light
Like love it blinds
Keeping alive
Bringing joy

Darkness
Like Death, revealing
Truth and pain
Unwanted yet needed

Which to choose,
Dark or Light
Both unbearble
Yet both a delight?

poem of the day

Melancholy

Good things coming to an end.
Sadness or depression of mind or spirit sang in a melancholy voice.
Good things coming to an end.
Melancholy can have causes that arent due to underlying disease.
Depressed in spirits.
Depression of spirits.
So why must you be so melancholy, my dear sweet flower?
Dont you know you are loved?
Dont you know?
So dont be melancholy, its only the start, the start of something new.
Dont be so melancholy,
Please smile my dear, for I do love you.
Why are you so melancholy, dear sweet flower?

Beneath the dark sky's
There shined a bright light
Brightening the path
You find your way

Believe it or not
Its Real
Not just a lie
Its just not visible
For some to see

Above the sky
There's many to see
Not just one or two
But more to believe

Forbidden love
Aren't real
Not just for life
But for eternity

They say eyes
Are like windows
Into your soul
So I guess thats why
I always wear contact lenses

past tips

Today's Tip:

When you're making a poem (or anything involving literature) with a theme you're not familiar with, just make it loose! For example, let's say your ideal theme is a beach. You can start small, like a basis of sand, earth, and likewise. You can always clean it up later!

~New Poem~
(This is for a band that my friends and I made; I was the song writer xP)

Our love for music almost came to an end,
For no one understood the message we sent,
Life is a game that we should all try to play,
Still people want to follow the rules,
And us people below arent just tools,
Some think we live to hide behind our walls,
But once broken down, we cant stand up tall,
We think we have friends that have our backs,
Yet they would stab us over and over if they were bribed to do just that.

A couple of hundreds and you got someones attention,
Life isnt about money, and its not about expectations,
Do you want to be controlled or do you want to live freely?
Are you afraid to live life illegally?
When you use words like freedom and peace
We expect our life to be just that,

Life is a game that we should all try to play,
Still people want to follow the rules
Us people below arent just tools,
Why must we rely on paper to get us through life?
Does it give us people some sort of light?
A light through a tunnel that doesnt exist,
Or a tunnel that makes us resist?

We people are not to be controlled,
Nor are we to be enrolled,
Forced upon violence like pawns on a chess board,
Trust me when people say, war will never be an award,
Do you want to be controlled or do you want to live freely?
Are you afraid to live life illegally?
America, was supposed to be the land of the free
Yet you see families being separated everywhere you see

Our love for music can end so suddenly,
No matter what the cause, nor the loss of paper currency,
When a song has a message, all we ever hear,
Is the beat of the music which controls us like some puppeteer,
No longer does life feel like centuries,
For it seems like technology is our new enemy,
Stealing our life away with the life we gave it,
Yet we will always submit,
Life is a game that we should all try to play,
We should never submit to being the prey,
Families being torn apart,
Wars almost being a good idea at the start...

(Bruh...I was literally so excited when I was writing this, it took me fifteen minutes...I used it for an English assignment too xD)

magnolia syndrome

youre unique with you characteristic
combinations of opinions, emotions
and behavior.

theorized to have evolved to encourage.

sweeter than French words,

more beautiful than the saddening
syndrome of a magnolia.

conditions characterized by a set of
associating symptoms,

symptoms that consistently occur together.

Red Strings

The red strings that bind us all
Dont apply to me
People try to tie me down
But Ill always cut myself free

Though it may be lonely
The isolation stings
No one will hold me back
I'll fly away on lonesome wings

(A kind of theme for a book series im trying to write)

To the Ends of the Earth
Forever I'll Remember
A World of Imagination
A Light in the Darkness
Promises
Dreams
A Day of Glory
Awakened
Lost Love
Remembered
But through the years we'll last
Forever

For those of you that didn't know, I'll be giving out at least one writing tip every week. If you don't want to be pinged with these, just let me know.

Today's Tip:

If someone tells you your poem is bad, don't worry- art in literature is relative. It's impossible to make something everyone will like, but that doesn't mean you can't try! Let it push you out of your comfort zone, try something new!!

Well here's my poem for the week I guess. I have a younger brother and everytime I see him I can't help but think about my own childhood and how wonderful it was.

A friend

I made a friend,
they don't have a name,
and they're kinda sorta lame,
but they make me laugh with their games.

I don't like my friend,
they broke the lamp,
they're such a little scamp,
but everyone says it's my fault not them.

I admire my friend,
everyone ignores them,
even though they're a gem,
and they don't care as long as I'm there.

I miss my friend,
My parents said they can't go to school,
so I told them goodbye,
I hope they don't cry,
wow I miss that fool.

I think I had a friend
I can't quite remember,
I think I last saw them December,
I wonder who they could be.

I lost a friend.
