I'm mostly fine now, but I need to know why it's taking so long for me to progress the story and how to grind gold and levels

Ah yeah, grinding can be a bit, well, grind-y.

Here's a guide to the exploration part of Sylestia (for the first two zones, you have to do the battles you encounter- I personally found myself stuck because I kept trying to avoid the battles. You can skip the battles sometimes in the third region though.

As for grinding- it's hoenstly just battling a lot. Lower level enemies give less xp then higher-level ones, and I personally like to drag along a low level pet with my higher-level ones in one of the later regions jsut to watch the pet's level shoot up. You shouldn't need to grind as much in the first three zones, but it doesn't hurt to get a bit ahead of the zone level, makes it a lot easier down the line.

For gold- I personally get most of mine from selling stuff on the trade broker (nurturing to get scales and sell dyes, fall fest kinda just finished up but winter feset is coming soon and selling anything you don't use is a pretty good way to cash out). You can also explore for chests of gold, or sell low level or extra equipment you don't need in your inventory.
