i dunno if this was already suggested, but i was thinking there could also be an affection/happiness bar for pets, probably starting from 100. each day it would decrease by 10 or 5 if the pet hasnt done anything at all yesterday, and you can increase it by interacting with it, like battling, breeding, etc...

Well, it might be a problem for hoarders but it would be a little more interesting

Maybe it could be for just the starters and pets on the party?

i think that would be a bit dim, also, some player have a lot of different teams, and they switch them alot as well, that would be a bit hard, i guess.

Well, actually, this system would probably still not be that hard since as long as you interacted with your pets, it would keep as 100, and players always have to feed their pets right? So i guess it wouldnt be that much of a problem, unless, these players dont even feed their pets

Well... I'm going to say that I really don't get what the purpose of this would be. Doesn't mean I'm against it, but without a purpose, it doesn't seem like something that really needs to be added.

Now, if having 100% happiness added some kind of small bonus to power or inborn stats for breeding, then I could see it as being worth adding.

However, if detriments were added for not keeping your pets at 100%, I think that would make it a tedious, annoying system that could suck a lot of joy out of the game.

So, yeah, I think to really know whether I would be for or against something like this, I'd have to know what the purpose of adding it would be (if there is a purpose).

This is how I basically feel. It would definitely have to be a positive. Like keeping a particular pet happy at 100% being a bonus to it's battle stats. I don't have to really do it if I don't want to, and if I do want to, then something to just worry about for one team wouldn't be so bad. I would be rather upset about any detriments though.

I would be in support for what Sav and Mika said. Like the pet stays normal if at 0 happiness and has increased battle stats or something if at 100% happiness

I oppose as I don't have the money to care for my pets and I would feel bad about it then

I agree with this 100%. I log on for about 2 months a year, and the only reason I do is because I can pick right back up where I left off from, and I think that's the case with a number of players. This is a site that is SUPER easy to come back to, unlike most pet sites.

Maybe for the breeding side of things, a high happiness would mean a higher chance of their hidden traits becoming visible traits in their offspring? Or more likely to become the "dominant" trait that passes on to the offpspring, when two Sylesties with different traits in the same slot breed together.

however, I already have to keep my pets fed, I am not sure if I can handle another thing which requires attention everyday... but, if there will be an option to auto-"happy" your pets (as in auto-feed), I do support! :D
