I got the idea for this from mint iced tea. It is kind of a family tradition to drink it during the summer, so the first thing I thought of was mint iced tea.

Theme Name: Summer Storms Lighira

Inspiration: The damage inflicted upon Texas and the surrounding areas in the USA by Hurricane Harvey have inspired me to design a more "sombre"/darker themed pet, While most of the time, the summertime is a time of calm and peace, weather conditions in the oceans can whip up ferocious storms and hurricanes. The darker blues represent the darkening sky and onslaught of rain that comes with the storms. I imagine the Lighira as the hurricane harbringer, and used M1 leg fur to create a "wave" look on the paws as well as M2 petal wings to imitate the splashing of waves and to give destructive yet pretty look. G3 magma runes looks like the foamy ocean ripples that signal unrest and brings to mind the movement/waving of the ocean.

Here is the image that I drew my colors off of:

Water in pools is my inspiration. The water seems to be different colors depending how you look at it and there is almost always plants or some other treasure near or even in the water. I think it's so much fun!

In my area, every year, summer brings the tiniest of guests: the ruby-throated hummingbird. They're rather rare, but I see one every year. I based my pet on their colors!

Heat Wave Kelpari:

Inspiration: I used to live in an area where summer would bring temperatures of over 100F. Sometimes, you could literally see heat waves radiating from the ground. One of my favorite ways to cool off was to jump in the pool or the lake, hence the splash of blue in my design amidst the otherwise sizzling colors.

Meet Coconut inspired by coconuts, weirdly enough :P
I associate coconuts with summer cause during summer holiday, when I was little, we would go to the beach and there they would sell coconuts <3

Inspiration: My inspiration is the forest in summer, when there's all sorts of life, from blooming flowers to deer and other beautiful creatures as well as busy insects of all shapes and sizes, and obviously butterflies are my favorites.

My entry is a Sandy Shell Kelpari, based on an image of a conch shell on the beach.
