so I realize this is super nitpick-y but whatever :p
It always bothers me when I have pets set for public breeding, for example a tamed non-themed, and it gets bred to a themed pet... I think it'd be really nice to have restrictions you can set for breedable pets, like: Breed only to non-themed, only to themed, etc
This isn't to knock down people that like mixed-themed pets, like you can definitely do what you want with yours pets... but I and other people personally don't like them, this would be a very helpful feature. I've had to take all my themed pets off public breeding because of this. And I hate that they just sit in my stables basically just being a food expense :p
No idea if this is feasible or not so be gentle please e.e

what about purebreds? they are technically non-themed. your restriction wouldn't allow to breed an X theme with PB of X theme as well.

Sorry, I can't support this. You say you don't want to knock people who like to do this, but this restriction would make it so people absolutely couldn't do something that they enjoy doing that is completely harmless.
If I need a specific trait for a project, many times themed pets are my only choice. Most people don't put single trait pets up for breeding and the last thing I want to do is introduce several non-desired traits into a project. This type of restriction would remove a large number of potential breeders for projects.
Frankly I don't understand why it would bother anyone what pets are bred to themed since it doesn't effect the themed pet and any offspring are obviously not pure bred, but if it does they have the option of only breeding by request. I feel that this is a much better option than eliminating everyone's ability to breed with a large number of pets.

Krin did talk about PB tags but true, those tags would need to come first before this ever did I guess :p

Yeah, its true you can do whatever you want with your pets, but that works for people that don't want to make any mixed-themed pets also :p
and besides, if right now, they also keep their themed off public breeding because of this, even if you requested a breeding with one of theres, they would say no, so really there is already some themed/traits you couldn't breed with. having these restrictions would just let you know not to waste time send a breeding request message...

The problem with this restriction idea is that no one would be able to breed their own themed pets with what ever pets they'd like. They wouldn't be able to do whatever they want with their own pets. So, while yes some people do keep their pets off public breeding for this reason, now everyone would be forced to not be allowed to use themed pets for any breeding other than with other same themed pets. That doesn't seem very fair and I'm not sure how this would benefit anyone.

Oh sorry, I guess I didnt make this super clear, I only suggesting this as an OPTIONAL thing. Like a menu on the pets page where you can set the restrictions, or not select any restrictions and anyone can still breed any pet to it. So there would still be plenty of pets to breed too

Ah! Okay, that makes a lot more sense. That I have no problem with at all. :-)
As mentioned above, it would restrict pb breeding to tagged pets, but it would still be better than no breeding at all. That would also let others know that you are open to breeding with a themed pet just only to others of the same theme. So that could be helpful.

I think this is a great idea! At first I though it would take pets off the breeding market, but on second thought it would almost certainly do the opposite since people who share your opinion and don't have their sylesti for breeding at all could put them up for Purebred Breeding (that's what I think it should be called btw). The biggest problem is the fact that purebreds aren't tagged, and I can understand what a headache that would be to code into the game, but I don't think it really effects the roots of this idea and could be added latter.
