When I was a kid, summer meant horseback riding!

I know, Qitaries aren't horses, but they're as close as I can get. Anyway this is my Sylesti version of Tugfire--

He was one of only two stallions I've ever ridden in my life. He was a demon disguised as a Palomino Quarter Horse, but man! He was beautiful!

I do not, alas, have a photograph of Tugfire, who has gone to the Great Roundup. However, this is a photograph of a Palomino Quarter Horse who is almost as handsome as he was--

I used Tipped Scales to try to achieve the dappled look, and lighter gold to show how Tugfire's color became paler toward his hooves. He didn't actually have white socks, just lighter gold. (I tried a bunch of other Genes, but they didn't look quite right. This is the closest I could get.)

Oh, and did you notice the Sylesti's eye color? Tugfire really did have these strange, smokey-gold eyes, like smokey topaz.

I used Raccoon Mane to try to give that rippled-silk look, and I didn't bother adding any kind of saddle Mutation because we generally rode bareback. (Such a wild bunch of kids, most of them related to me in one way or another. Rural Appalachia was like that.)

I hope his descendants are still galloping around Appalachia someplace, getting into devilment, hopefully with kids.

Inspiration:
My summers as a kid were spent traveling mostly but no matter where I went one thing remained, my love of swimming. I remember swimming in one place with the flowers on the lily pads and as the light began to fade and the lightning bugs came out, something we do not have where I live, I was so amazed as a kid to see little lights floating in the sky and the fish and other animals of the lake swallowing the light.

Summer Storm Ny'Vene

Inspired by the unusually stormy weather my city has been having ALL summer long. I live in the sunniest city in Canada... but it is kind of hard to believe that statistic this year. xD

This Zolnixi is based on a crashing ocean wave, the Chow Tail represents the wave, the Ocelot represents the sand.

"Sally sells seashells by the seashore.
She sells seashells on the seashell shore.
The seashells she sells are seashore shells,
Of that I'm sure.
She sells seashells by the seashore.
She hopes she will sell all her seashells soon.
If neither he sells seashells
Nor she sells seashells,
Who shall sell seashells?
Shall seashells be sold?"

This is one of those nursery rhymes that kind of tends to get stuck in your head. With this inspiration I present Sally Shore my sandy shell inspire Kelpari.

So, my favorite part of summer is the Surf Camp I work at. Of course, the ocean is 40f, and it's almost always foggy, but there is just something about the ocean...

The inspiration for my design is whenever we go to the zoo (which is usually open only during the summer when we see the peacocks) the first thing I do is look for the most beautiful peacock there and it is always the white peacock with his beautiful blue eyed feathers. Alas I could not find the picture of my peacock but I designed the White Peacock Griffi as my summer pet design :) many fond memories of going to the zoo with my grandparents and hoping to share the same amazing memories with my son next year :)
