Second row in this post! Actually, Mythology is a great one. I have those there, where i took a really golden color for Helios/Sun, a blueish purple and silver for Selene/Moon, and a orange/yellow-purple for Eos/Dawn. Then i took small bits like the epithet of 'rosy fingered [with golden arms]' for Eos and added into the design.
It just takes a little research, really. Epithets, symbolic animals/plants, various specific myths, what they're the patron diety of, etc etc. Even wikipedia has a pretty decent chunk of info most of the time! As long as the important parts are there, maybe if they specify what information they used in their designs, it could make an excellent category!

That's really cool. Thanks so much for sharing! Since you put it that way... I might actually make a Mythology theme in the future. :D Also, the rest of your conceptual projects look pretty awesome. The Ghost Faelora is definitely a favorite!

No problem! Yeah, everyone suggests it, but i've never actually seen it be a theme, at least in my experience! It's a shame, it has as much potential as any other theme!
Yeah, that one i actually whipped together when i came back from my long break. The Lupora had been done first, but when i saw the Ghostly Aura i was like I GOTTA USE IT! Which of course is how i react to every new gene i like...

@Jai, your zolnixi is beautiful! Simple but enjoyable. Frost runes was an excellent choice.
@Resonance, all of your designs are absolutely gorgeous. I love how the tentacles on the Purple Night Aeridini seem to emulate trees - whether or not that was intended. ;)

Had some trouble finding time for this since I've been running my own contest, and everyone has turned in so many lovely designs already, but since I had these two in my head I figured I'd put them out there. Hope everyone enjoys them. :)
