April has officially begun, which means I've started thinking about my birthday and how to celebrate it! I turn 26 (so old....*weeps*) on April 10th, and this will be my first birthday on Sylestia, so I wanted to host a contest. One of my favourite things is dressing up, so this will be a Costume Contest! Anyone can participate, and have a chance to win fantastic prizes!

Rules -- Please Read!

1) Go to the "Wardrobe" and come up with an avatar outfit for me! It can use either base, and any items.

2) Post your design in this thread, and give it a name. Descriptions are optional, but I'd love to know why you chose what you did for me. No need to include all the hex codes for colours.

3) You may only submit ONE costume design! You may edit your post to put in a different design, but don't have multiple designs in your post or make multiple posts -- you will be disqualified if you do.

4) The contest ends on April 10th (my birthday!) at 12:00 am Sylestia time (i.e. the start of that day, so submit designs by the end of the 9th). I will choose my three favourite designs at some point on that day and announce the winners.

I will also aim to wear the winning outfit design for the rest of the month, assuming I have or can easily obtain all the necessary wardrobe items!

Helpful Information

Though there are no rules regarding how your design looks, I have a few suggestions that might be useful:

- I prefer brightly coloured or pastel coloured outfits to darker designs that use a lot of black.
- I love earth tones/greens, purples, warm hues like red/orange/yellow, and rainbows!
- I generally use the second hair design on the second page of the wardrobe (as seen in my current avatar), and prefer short hairstyles in general. I usually use this hex code for hair colour: CCA843, but also like pastels.
- I often change the ears up depending on the design, but really like the long elf ears and the ones with curls on the end.
- I love the last four sets of eyes in the wardrobe, and especially the cat eyes. I generally use some kind of green for the eye colour.

Alright, so I kind of made it the wrong theme, but...taa-daa!



Okay, well, I don't really know you well enough to know what would reflect your personality or style, but I just designed something I thought looks kind of pretty and has similar hair, hair color, ears, and eyes as what you want. The warm hues you mentioned made me jump to autumn, and only after I'd been designing it for a while did I remember that this is only April, haha.

Here, Im new so I hope I did this right. This is my first contest!
Here is my new one! All ready for spring~
I added the tail so it could match with your hair and skin colour! The hat and outfit gives it a kind of playful look, and the wings and birds are a perfect touch for a lovely spring outfit!

"Fool For Springtime"

I was inspired by the fact that your birthday is in April, and two of my friends got married on April 1st--April Fool's Day. (Hey, I can't laugh; I got married on Hallowe'en.) One of said friends is a professional musician and songwriter and wrote a poem/song about why the date was appropriate. I won't post it, because I don't have my friend's permission. But it's about how trusting in love is the height of foolishness and yet the wisest thing they ever did.

Anyhow, I went with the Medieval idea of the "holy fool" or "innocent fool" being a fool for romance (it's springtime, after all), plus the Fool in the Tarot deck, who in many versions holds a rose in her/his hand, and always has a faithful dog--generally dark in color. I used clashing springtime colors because the classic Fool is supposed to clash, plus, hey, spring!

Edit: The red leg of the hose both matches the rose and complies with an important feature of The Fool's motley; one leg is always a different color from all the rest of the outfit.

PS I would totally love to get this guy--https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1348309. He's half-brother to my beautiful Eidolon Echo, but he's distantly related, if related at all, to my WS vixens.

Edit: This is one of those few outfits where the male version does NOT look better than the female outfit.
