Fright Night Ryori
So, one of my favorite things about fall is Halloween and the scariness that comes with it. The time of year when your imagination runs wild and you could imagine all sorts of evil things coming to get you.This Ryori is based off of the unknown creatures of the dark that you are sure will be lurking around every corner in the darkness.

This is my Ghoulish Ryori, it's based around my idea of a dark entity, a trickster spirit with no other purpose than to cause despair and destruction. Rather than go for the simple black look, I blended a black cloud of smoke and mystery with purple and red hues to match his gruesome demeanor. And of course, you can't have a devilish poltergeist rendition without those characteristic horns!

This is inspired by one of my favorite things about fall: The colors! Ugh, the oranges and yellows, contrasting with the dark, dark brown of the tree bark is just phenomenal.

Hopefully with the extention of the fest, this isn't late!
To me, autumn/fall is very closely tied to Halloween. When we think of Halloween, we think of spirits, ghosts, zombies, graveyards, ect.
In the same way, fall signifies these end of life events as well. The trees shed their leaves, animals disappear so that they can hunker down to brace the cold-some sleep, some die. The sun comes out less and less, allowing the darkness more freedom to come forth and engulf us. The world gets kind of quite and even though it is beautiful, there is something so ominous about it that in many ways, it scares us a little.
My design is representative of the beauty of the darkness that autumn and fall bring, yet the fear of what lurks in it's shadows.
