Hey fellow handheld gamers! I'm going to be getting a 3DS XL soon ish, and I'm looking for suggestions of other games to play other than the Pokemon games as I have those already.

I'm very fond of RPGs, and puzzle games(NOT Tetris!). I also like the pet games, and thriller/mystery, and horror games.

Please list the names of the games, and approximate prices, as well as places I might be able to buy them from?

Thanks for reading, and helping.

Don't forget to ping me.

I honestly really like Kid Icarus: Uprising you play as the angel hero Pit and try to stop hell and it's army from taking over. I find the game quite fun since there is a variety of weapons and weapon types my personal favorites are sword and bow. Unlike most games there is a actual commentary throughout the whole game and some of it is laugh your socks off kinda stuff, but what is most interesting is the unique battle system i'll let you find that out on your own about that.

Prepare to meet the light.
About price: 35
Store: I saw it in gamestop and target.

Ping back if it doesn't appeal but I really do suggest it.

I recently got the 3DS version of Legend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time off the e-shop ... definitely worth the 39.99. :)
(not sure how much it is in dollars/where you can get it in the states though.)

Oh congrats on being able to get a 3ds! ^o^ I like rpg and puzzle games too.

Note: I have a 2ds and not a 3ds.

I only own 3ds game. Runefactory 4, Pokemon Y, and Animal Crossing.
Honestly, I kind of regret buying animal crossing. I played a life time's worth when it was on gamecube. There isn't really that much new content. The major difference is that you can now go to anyone's village in the world...but I don't care for that feature. So it was kind of a bust for me.

I'm a big fan of the rune factory series (in my personal top favorite games),
Rune factory 3 (ds game) $15
Rune factory 4 (3ds game) $40

Rune factory 3 was my first in the series, so I happen to like it a lot =w= Extra bonus is that you get to be a fuzzy little sheep thing =w=
Though rune factory 4 is great too.

It's described as a rpg version of harvest moon. But it's really much much more. You have a decent amount of freedom in these series to do what you want. You don't have to farm if you don't want to. You don't have to progress the story line if you don't want to (and you still have full access to all regions in the case of rune factory 3). You can also capture monsters. The monsters that you capture can drop farm stuff like milk and eggs. There is crafting. You can also ride certain monsters (I believe rune factory 4 has more monsters that you can ride). The story lines aren't bad. You can choose a wife (or husband in rune factory 4). And there is a lot of non-repetitive dialogue, more so in rune factory 4. Yeah, it's loads of fun. B)

The professor layton puzzle series can be fun too,
There are 4 ds games in the series, ea. roughly $15
There is 1 3ds game out so far, $33
There is another 3ds game coming out in Feb.

I've only played the first game in the series, the curious village. Honestly, I found all of the puzzles either really easy or just easy. (I study math and computer science so this is probably a more unusual experience) Though do note that despite this, it was still entertaining! I also like the cartoon graphics, and the story line. Yes, I enjoyed it and want to get the next one in the series.

Some other ds (not 3ds) games that I have enjoyed,
Elite beat agents $10
A great rhythm game. Note I played the game after my brother unlocked all levels. So I didn't have to play 'Material Girl' 40 times to beat the boss level. ahahah. I also didn't have to play on easy mode, which for some reason seems more difficult than normal mode?! Loads of fun though.

The world ends with you $20
This game is kind of unique, Idk what genre it is. The story line is very interesting and there are cool character designs! The gameplay can be a bit challenging if you want it to be. I've never finished the game, though I very very rarely ever finish games. The only downside that there can only be one saved file. (Deleted my brothers progress after asking him haha. yolo. I think he was sad inside)

Lost in blue $40 <- how?! (just buy some pre-owned game for like $5-10)
You end up stranded on an island with one other person and either (A) try to survive or (B) try to survive and escape the island. This game is fun, as you can just stay on the island forever if you want. =w= There are a lost in blue 2 and 3 but I haven't heard the best things about them so I never got them.

Chrono Trigger $30
Known as either the best or at the very least top 10 best games of all time. It is an old game with old graphics, but available to buy for DS. It's a great time traveling rpg.

Magical Star Sign $8
It's your classic rpg game with a little extra interest. This game got boring after a while. But definitely lasted me a lot of hours of fun. Its one of those games that's hard to go back to after a while, because you forget where you are in the story line haha.

Do you have a DS or gameboy advance?
If so my favorite gameeee is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for GBA. The art style is pretty (when not looking at the pixels). And the character classes are great. And and I love it.
Golden Sun is another fun rpg for GBA

I recommend Zelda a Link between worlds it's awesome and I had so much fun playing it I finished it in a week! Then once you beat the game you get to play hero mode! It's harder.....a lot harder.....[I die a lot]

Price about $40:00 yeah but it's worth it you get to play in a totally new way, looking overhead it's 3d,you get to merge in walls yeah I love Zelda games.

Oh!I got mine from gamestop.I have a member ship card. You might want to look the game up first my description isn't as good as it could be.....

I also recommend any other Zelda game and oh don't forget the classics Mario and Luigi super bros,Mario kart 7 stuff like that. Those games are about $40.00 to yeah I get most of my games pre-owned.

i recamend pokemon x or y i have the game and it has been awesome if you like pokemon. there are new pokemon,a new team(team flare),new starter and they make it so you can pick a starter of the 3 starters for leaf green and fire red.

one thing you are able to do is that at a part in the game you will get a mega ring and you can make it that some pokemon have a extra evolstion(you can only use it once per battle so if you use it in a traner battle and that pokemon dies you cant you's it on another pokemon untell the end of the battle)

it is able to be bought at gamestop, target, eshop, and other places that sell games

I already have the Pokemon games, I stated that in my original post, lol.

I was asking for game suggestions other than Pokemon...the biggest reason behind me getting my new system.
