Traditional Easter Egg Contest

The object of this contest is to decorate your own Sylestia-Themed Easter Egg!

This is the Traditional Easter Egg Contest!
There is also a Digital Contest, which can be found here.

Rules

1. You must submit ONE entry of a decorated Easter Egg. You are allowed to use pretty much any physical mediums for the egg (such as clay, Styrofoam, plastic, etc).

2. Your submission must be Sylestia themed in some way.

3. You must provide a minimum of 3 separate pictures of your creation/decorating process along with your Username and 2024 Easter Event physically displayed somewhere in each picture. Here is an example of how this should look:

You do not need to post them in a grid like this. I just did this to save space.

A Player Guide on How to Upload Images

4. You must actually be the one to create your entry! While assistance is fine, you cannot simply have someone else create your entry for you and then claim credit. If you are tracing an image for your entry, you must have been the one to originally create that image (Unless what you are tracing is a Sylestia asset, such as our pets, avatars, monsters, etc)! The main point of this contest is to have fun and be creative. So just do your best and have fun. =) We want to see your creativity!

5. Please do not reserve posts. Only post when you are ready to submit an entry. If your entry is still ongoing, you may post early with the progress that you currently have and edit your post as you finish.

6. Please do not ping me unless you have a specific question or concern that I need to address. Thank you.

7. The due date for submitting your entry is by the end of the Easter Event.

Everyone's submissions will be judged by Faiona and I where we will select First, Second, and Third place winners based on creativity, effort, and appeal.

I decided to make a ryori eggo! I forgot to put the "easter 2024" event, but I do have my username, sylestia, and the date... If that's not okay, well, I had fun at least! ^^

This egg was based off of my starter pet (my darling Rain On Me) and the Zolnixi banner talisman. My fingers have so, so much glue on them.

+ =...

(These are the wires that make up the cores of the yarn feathers, I just couldn't be bothered to take pictures midway through making them. Apologies!

all of the photos I have taken are here

Hand crocheted egg

Doodled the design

Embroidered around the design, then I needle-felted the white base colour on

I needle-felted the fluff on and loosely sketched where the definition would be

Added an outline

What I thought was going to be the final product

Thanks to the amazing Nightbane, who gave me this idea. The final product!

ETA; the quick sketch that I based this design on (which in my opinion came out much better than the loose sketches on the egg xD)

I wanted to make a bulbori Easter egg with some species of sylesties that I felt most represented spring :)
So first I sketched out a Nephini

Then I outlined it

Somehow I did not take pictures for the entire aerdini process as well as coloring, but here's the two sylesties after cutting them out and also making an origami egg (which I also made and did not take pictures for)

Drew and colored the bulbori that would go inside the egg too

Then I cut the bulbori out and assembled everything, and here's the final product!
When the egg is closed:

When the egg is open:

Another picture with the bulbori outside the egg:

I had this vision of a Vorpa in an egg swimming, now in the end I've omitted the water but I used a clear plastic egg, in which I put a handsculpted figurine of my lovely Anoixi!

The smooth surface allowed me to scratch lines into the acrylic paint.

And more pics of the finished result!

I might have gone a little over my head with this one but I decided to make a hatching Blossom the Bunny bulb and Easter Suprise fae
Had to use real eggs of course, used the little drill bit to puncture the top off

Painted the eggs white first since the brown would have messed with the colors. But the pink egg still got repainted 3 times. I really wanted to use the pearlescent pink but it was much too dark and mixing with white got rid of the shine so I just put the regular pastel pink on

Sculpting!

After a day of drying its painting time. They received a white coat before the colors went on. Unfortunately the little fae suffered a calamity at the hands of a careless husband and lost both her ears getting knocked over. I was only able to reattach one and the little flower bud was lost in the process :(

Due to constant rain I was unable to take them outside for a pretty grass pic but some fluff, an easter basket and colorful bags will have to do
