"Precisely," Darius said, drawing a knife himself. A couple hours later, he pronounced Maria proficient.

(No, I do not.)

Maria:

She was very tired but was wondering if she did well. " How'd I do? " She asked smiling.

( Well they did a walking dead game, David and Maria remind me of clementine and Lee )

David
"You did very well," David said.

(I've never watched the walking dead. I don't get the reference.)

( It is a game spin off of the Tv show xd, but Clementine is a little girl who was found by Lee, and Lee became sort of a father figure for her, there was a scene in the game where Lee taught her how to shoot a gun so I couldn't help myself but think they were similar. )

Maria:

She beamed, very happy and pleased with herself to hear it. " So now the bad guys can't hurt me, right? "

(I gotcha.)

"They can still get you, but they'll have to get through me, and, if they do, with what I taught you, they'll have a hard time getting close to you. I want you to keep that knife on you at all times," David said.

Maria:

She nodded and placed the knife in her pocket. She then smiled happily at him " Thank you for teaching me to protect myself, that was very nice of you to do. "

David
"Well, we all need to know how. And, if we were hit by raiders, they'd probably go for you, because you're the youngest, and, therefore, the easiest target, or so they will think," David said.

Maria:

" W-what if the raiders get me? What will happen? " Her voice was trembling with fear, now Maria looked frightened. She didn't want to get hurt badly, she was terrified of it in fact.

David
"Terrible things," David said, in a way that said that he wouldn't exaggerate on it.

Maria:

She seemed even more scared now. " T-then they w-won't take me... Right? If I fight I will be okay right? "
