Thank you everyone for your time and patience! I wanted to get these results up sooner but I've been dealing with my young son being very sick this week (don't worry, its just a bad cold). He is now on the mend and I managed to finish judging the design and writing contests! Congratulations to the winners!

Design Contest
1st Place Dragongem23 (Easter Sunrise Ferrikki)
I really responded to these designs. First the ferrikki I loved particularly because it was the best use of Petal Pollen I've seen since the trait was released. The fact that the kelpari was called Earth Crawler and the way that it was colored really made it look like something you'd see crawling on a forest floor (even though its a water creature which I also found very admirable). The lunemara was stunning and something about the way the wings looked really made it seem frozen. The puff was probably my favorite of the all because your use of black really made the other colors stand out and the whole thing just looked like lava.

2nd Place Shardial (Ent Sapling (Obsidian)/Free Breeding)
These designs were all quite breathtaking. At first glance I was tempted to overlook them because the color palettes seemed so similar. It was on closer inspection, and after really taking the themes you were going for into account, that I really felt an emotional connection to each design. Very well done.

3rd Place Kattaria (Ent Sapling (Cindy)/Free Breeding)
I remember when you first posted your designs that they caught my eye. In particular I loved the Winter rikki and the Autumn puff. Using the lop ears and arctic fur for Winter were very nice, and the colors were subtle and beautiful, but the thing that was so unique was the use of Flames in the orb, and the subtle red tones, like even in the dead of winter some warmth still exists.

4th Place Locknkey1 (Malfarian's Companion (Cotton)/Free Breeding)
One of my favorite things is when people use emotions for theme designs. I found your kelpari somewhat lacking in compared to the other three, but the other three were so provoking that they saved the set. There was something about the Passion rikki, Sadness lune, and Happiness puff that managed to make me feel each emotion. Hard to do and well executed.

Honorable Mention Oddorable1 (Full Set of Ferrikki Pillow Pets)
Alright, so I just HAD to throw in a mention for this set of designs. I wasn't sure what the overall theme for all four was so I found it hard to place among the others, but I just wanted to go on record and say that all of these designs made me smile. The bright colors were lovely, and the Egyptian Scarab lune was just divine. Thank you very much for entering them because I enjoyed looking at them!


Writing Contest

1st Place Calliopecat (Easter Sunrise Ferriki)
It was so hard for me to judge all of these stories and to pick winners, but I think what made yours stand out was the main character, and the overall message which, to me, seemed to be that even when things don't go the way that you plan it doesn't mean the day has to be ruined. I loved that, and I loved reading it.

2nd Place LivingInMyOwnReality (Perfume of Themed Attraction/Lovely Mutator/Free Breeding)
This story was so very interesting to me. What made this entry unique was that if you read it a certain way it almost sounded like a poem. You could feel the emotions as you read it and as a writer myself it was a beautiful thing to see that kind of skill.

3rd Place Solani (Perfume of Themed Attraction/Lovely Mutator/Free Breeding)
Admittedly, part of me was a bit thrown off by your story, only because I could feel like there was history I wasn't aware of between the characters, which makes sense since you mentioned they were characters of yours from an original story. However, it was well written and I found the characters and the premise very intriguing.

4th Place Pickless (Perfume of Themed Attraction/Lovely Mutator/Free Breeding)
Another story that I enjoyed because of the message of perseverance that it portrayed. I guess given things that I've gone through in life that sort of message always resonates with me, but I feel like its something everyone should take to heart. Even in the darkest of moments, a light can be found if we look hard enough.

Honorable Mention Dragongem23 (Free Breeding/Lucky Mutator)
Another instance where, even though this story didn't place in the top 4, I felt like I couldn't not mention it. Perhaps not the most "properly" written story, but as a mother it definitely struck a chord for me. I can't imagine ever celebrating my son's birthday without him there, but having the story end on a positive note was very touching.
