August narrowed his eyes as he gazed around into the darkness, head occasionally tilting from one side to the other to get a better angle as he searched.

"Don't worry, I trust you to lead the way," Mrs. Mouse murmured. "I'll be right behind." Like Scarlet suggested, she did keep track of the directions that they walked. It was mostly an easternly direction, a little bit downward, but there were no side-paths to keep track of. Strangely, it was just the single, strangely lit hall. Also, the floor bore signs of scuff marks on it? Mrs. Mouse paused to rub a paw over the marks. "These marks are old. Claws? Did a fight happen here before?"

Jay had been hanging in the back, watching the entrance, though he was dying to gossip with the others. The mention of the marks made him curious though. "I haven't been looking at the floor at all. Do you think...we're going to get attacked being here?" He was with Scarlet; he felt sure that something lurked behind every corner. "Maybe we should leave. This hall has nowhere to hide."

"What is that foolish mouse and her pack up to now?" Red scoffed as he ripped some plants up from the soft dirt beneath his paws. He saw them go toward the savanna area again, disappearing beneath the watchful eye of the other two wolves in his pack. Or, at least, that was what they said. Disappeared. An unease settled on his shoulders. He had no interest in those animals playing heroes and escape artists instead of rulers of The Menagerie but even he knew not to mess with the witch. Tilting his head back, he howled to call for the Arctic and Mexican wolf that made up his pack, not knowing that there was a new wolf who could hear his call and not caring if Gray heard either. It wasn't like they would answer.

Scarlet stumbles on one of the gouges in the floor, slightly limping on her front right paw, "I hope not but I cannot be sure. If you really want to get out of here Jay then how we put it up to a vote and the group decide? Though first I need to look at my paw because that last step really hurt." She picks it as she bends her head down to look at the scratch in the pad which was bleeding slightly, "Mrs.Mouse do you think you could work the rock out of my paw without making it worse please I'm afraid it'll go deeper?"

"I can hide anywhere! See?" Hunter shuts his eyes tight and stands really still, positive that if he couldn't see them, they couldn't see him. Gray shakes her head, a slight grin brightening her appearance. She was debating on whether or not she should pounce on him and prove to him that he could be seen or just let him have fun and not know.
She decided to bump against him and then act all surprised, "What's this that I have bumped into? Could it be... Hunter? He can really hide anywhere. Boo!" She pounced on him and Hunter squeals with excitment, dashing away once he had gotten out from her grip. He stays in sight, though, like he knows he has to.
Gray grins at her brother as a faint howl catches her attention. She looks back uneasily, ears perked. Her scruff started to rise as she worried, afraid Red was coming after them.

Scarlet growls slightly at Hunter, "Sorry to burst your bubble but even if you can't see the outside world they can still see you. Just keep your eyes and ears open while trying to be quiet okay." She softens her voice a little, "We can't afford to be reckless right now."

"Oh dear. We must be careful," Mrs. Mouse murmured as she hopped over to Scarlet. It was a small rock and didn't take much effort to work out but it proved that they were perhaps too cocky about this venture. "Despite how modern this tunnel is, it's not well maintained. The witch must be far less stable than I first thought." Tutting, she peered forward, noting that a corner was up ahead and probably the last chance they would have to change their minds. "I think it's fair to take a vote. It might be selfish of me to say so, but I think we should keep going."

Jay settled down on Gray's shoulder, giving the entrance another uneasy look. "Was that a howl? If we get trapped on the other side, this will be really bad. I wonder if those wolves are in league with the witch!" He didn't think the marks on the floor looked deep enough to be made by a wolf but he wasn't an expert. Even a tiny animal in a state of madness could shred through metal but so could a wolf. "I don't want to be a deciding vote so whatever everyone else says, I'll go along."

Scarlet nods once, "I agree with Mrs. Mouse we should keep going. Thank you for helping me Mrs. Mouse and maybe you're right about the witch but I'm not sure that's the case."

August shuddered. "I agree. We've come so far already, and I'm not about to turn back yet. Let's keep going."

Scarlet pressed onward since trying not to look nervous or afraid. She was both, "Alright keep in mind this is not just my idea anymore."
