"Thank you. I can walk, just guide me until the rain stops."

Scarlet nods once, "I suppose so but it can also bring people together as well." She watches the rain hoping that everything would eventually be alright.

Jay couldn't help but chuckle at Scarlet and Hunter's words. "You are right about that. It's kinda amazing how long we've been together, the three of us. I'll be really sad if we get out of this place but never see each other again."

Mrs. Mouse shook her head. "Even if I did, it wouldn't matter. The Menagerie is made of magic. The halls and rooms change at the whims of a witch. Surely I'd recognize the room if I saw it, but I've retraced my steps many times. The way has changed. Now, it's best to follow one's heart!" She gave Dew a fierce look. "We were very close before so if we can find a way to the other side of that light, we'll find the door for sure!"

Meloreia smiled before extending a hand, both to shade August from the rain as well as to offer a perch. "I won't force you to, but if you would like a ride, I don't mind it. We'll only be traveling a little ways past the sands."

"I can walk." August repeated. "...What sands? I didn't see any on the way out here."

"That wouldn't happen," Scarlet says, "events like these bring people together who normally stay togerther because they share events."

"This is a dessert portion so it borders this area," Meloriea explained. "Then the river oasis, and beyond, the forests. I don't suppose you have a particular forest you're interested in?" As they walked, the rain dwindled again, seeming to lose its power as they moved away from it.

Jay sighed. "I hope you're right. But what if we lived on other sides of the world. We won't recognize each other. It will be impossible to wait for such a chance meeting!" He remember...well, it was getting hard to remember his previous life at this point, but hadn't he seen a great deal of people each day? Still, he wanted better chances.

"That's what phones and the internet are for Jay," Scarlet laughs, "I remember besides when we do get out of here you'll have my phone number so can all stay in contact."

"Back the way I came, preferbly. That way." August responded, waving a wing in the general direction.

Dew listened intently. Automatically, she started looking around for a redwood tree. Surely they would be visible from anywhere because they were so huge!

"I don't actually have a phone. My mom doesn't believe in kids having one. My older sister doesn't have one either. It fell into a river and drowned. Do phones drown or is that only a human/animal thing?" Hunter asks curiously.
