"Nice to meet you, Grey and Mrs. Mouse. I just woke up here about fifteen minutes ago. My theory is that this... place is the Afterlife. Yknow, like we died and were sent here. Also, does anyone know if there are any others of their species? Like, has anyone seen another bear, wolf, mouse, et cetera?" The bear rumbled at her new friends.

"I have seen other wolves." Grey says quietly. "But I would suggest avoiding them. They turned to their wolf too much. They aren't reliable or friendly. They suggested me a position, but I denied to stay with my own little pack... Unfortunately, our pack has split says somehow. Mrs. Mouse and I went one way while my brothe, his name's Hunter, the blue jay Jay, and the fox named Scarlet went another. We're trying to group back together."

"Where do you think the rest of our 'pack' is, Grey? We could try and find them. Also, what do you mean they 'turned to their wolf too much?' Is there something I've missing?" I ask.

"Some creatures here, when they've stayed too long I'm guessing, have started to turn more and more into the animal they are. The wolves - at least some of them in that pack - had completely turned. I don't know where the rest of the pack is. We're trying to find them. I'm not sure how much you know or have seen so I could not tell if there is something you have been missing." Grey says, wagging her tail slightly in an attempt to raise everyone's feelings.

The bear cocks her head slightly, still somewhat confused. "You make it sound as though we aren't originally our species. Were we something else?" The bear asks.

"I know I used to be a human... A human farmer." Grey says, giving Dew a small smile.

Almost as though those words were magic, bits and pieces of memories flood Dew's mind. A woman holding a baby in a mirror. A voice saying "Dew!" over and over again. A voice saying, "Mah mah." A fire. Thin, tan legs consumed by flames. Black, bloody skin. Darkness. Then, a female face with blurred features. Dew gasped and nearly fell over. "I... I remember things. I think I was a human too. A mother." Then, darkness overtook her vision like a tidal wave.

"Are you alright, Dew?" Grey asks, checking to see if Dew was okay.

"Protector?" August asked skeptically. "You wouldn't happen to be the person who brought me into this maze to start with, would you?"

Dew winced and shook her head. She had blacked out and now she wanted to know why. Could the woman with the blurry face have been the reason all of them were here?
