Borgken studied you for a minute or so. He scratched at his scraggly beard, and then ran a hand through his dark hair. "Yes, well, this blade seems to be destined for you. I'll tell you what. If you do me a favor, then this blade will be yours," he offered.

Malak returned the dwarf's studying look with one of his own. Sheltered he may have been, conditioned with skewed values that had no place in the world outside of his desert tribal lands, but he was no fool. The dwarf was asking for a favor in return for the scimitar, but he had not given any indication about the type of favor.
"I appreciate the offer," he said, arching an eyebrow, "But I think that would depend rather heavily on the favor."

For once, the dwarf seemed... shadowed. His face was more melancholy than the normal friendliness he bore before. "My daughter. Her name is Arlaga. She was sixteen years old when she disappeared two months ago... I suspect the Nioro clan kidnapped her. Now, I'm past my prime, in case you haven't noticed. I used to be an explorer, but then I sustained too many injuries to be doing this myself. Just, please... If you can get my daughter back, then you can have anything you want from my shop," he pleaded. "Anything, if you bring my baby girl home..."

Malak listened to the dwarf with his full attention, absently rubbing his small beard with his hand.
The mention of kidnapping made him stiffen, remembering his own recent experience. The idea of a child having to go through that was repugnant. However, he didn't intend on rushing into anything.
"I am terribly sorry for what you're going to," he told the dwarf calmly, "I'm afraid I will need to consult with my companion before committing to anything. She knows more of the other races of this world than I do. If we can help you in any way then it will be my pleasure."

{ I read up on them - very nice to know more details !! Not just about Dwarfs either - I'm very glad for the work you've put into the Book so far. x} Had to say that was the hardest part on settling on a character - I wanted to have a decent backstory so I knew what I was working with character-wise but didn't have a lot to go on for the other races.
Quick question, for Dwarf clans, am I to just make up a random name for Helja's clan or is there going to be like, a list of clans? }

Helja nodded, taking a few steps towards the door.
"All right then, if youre sure. Thank you, one last time, for your hospitality." With that she opened the door and left the tavern.
"Well, I suppose something wanted me to stop here. A quick romp around the town just to see whats what cant hurt." She looked around to see what was available.

Malak bowed to the dwarf and turned around to...
a.) Head back to the front of the shop
...where Elysetta was still waiting. He approached her, his eyes serious.
"We have a situation," he told her, and he explained what the dwarf had told him about his daughter being kidnapped, "You had said that these two dwarf clans were feuding. I don't want to get involved without a good reason, but if his daughter was really kidnapped by this other clan..." He trailed off and looked at her, waiting for her thoughts on the matter.
