It seemed odd to think that these dwarves were at war with another clan. Everyone they had met so far was so friendly. Malak bowed to the dwarf they found standing at the counter of the shop.
"Master Borgken," he greeted, stumbling slightly on the pronunciation of the dwarf's name, "One of the guards at the entrance, Hanagar, mentioned that you were the one to see about acquiring a new weapon." He glanced at Elysetta. "I recently lost mine."

If possible, Borgken's smile widened. "Ah, Hanagar. My beauteous, most generous sister. Yes, indeed, I can help you find a new weapon! What type of weapon are you after?" he inquired.

The dwarf's enthusiasm was infectious and Malak found himself chuckling a little. His body posture relaxed and he regarded the dwarf with interest now.
"Well, the weapon I lost was a scimitar," he explained, "It is the weapon I was trained with as a youth. I would like to replace it but I am also interested in something potentially more...concealable." With an almost imperceptible shudder, Malak recalled how easily the shadow figures had disarmed him when they abducted himself and Elysetta.

Malak was almost more eager than he would like to admit to have access to a weapon again.
His childhood tutors had not spent much time teaching him hand-to-hand combat and he had become very dependent on his scimitar being at his side. He began to...

"Stay and keep an eye out?" he said inquiringly, before continuing to follow the dwarf.

The pixie looked as if she wanted to say something, but shut her mouth, her hands clenched into fists by her side and face slightly red.
You followed Borgken through a heavy steel door, which he opened with ease, into a room with more glinting, glittering weapons than you had ever seen before. They were gorgeous, really. However, the dwarf led you straight to the back, where he retrieved a metal box from a shelf. "This is one beauty I've been saving for a worthy traveler. I made it on the night of my marriage," he told you as he opened the box.
Inside was the most glorious scimitar you had ever seen. It was finely handcrafted, with a blade that almost hurt to look at because of how sharp it seemed. The other end of the blade was engraved with deep gold letters of a foreign alphabet, almost glowing against the pure silver of the blade itself. You could see your reflection in it, clearly. The handle was just as intricately made, mostly blue and gold, and seemed as if it would fit nothing other than a warrior.
"This blade is the sharpest I have ever made," Borgken told you. "And also, this weapon is capable of shrinking down into no more than a dagger's size," he added, pointing out a hidden silver keypad on the handle, covered by the cloth that wrapped around the handle.

Malak, oblivious to his companion's reaction to his dismissal, followed the dwarf through the door. The room they entered was filled with various weapons, all gleaming and beautifully crafted. To say Malak was in awe was an understatement. This place was amazing.
When Borgken brought out the scimitar...well Malak was usually a man of few words but even still he was rendered speechless. The blade was gorgeous, and so sharp it felt as though he could cut himself just by looking at it. When the dwarf told him of the special ability the weapon had Malak almost vibrated with excitement.
"How much would such a weapon cost?"

Borgken blew dust off of the blade, even though there was no dust on it to begin with. "I've been thinking of pricing this beauty at 200 Fairs, but given you know my sister, I'd be willing to drop down to 150," he answered with a smile.

Malak's heart broke a little when Borgken quoted the price, but he was not surprised. A blade that special and beautifully made was bound to be quite expensive. Even with the Fairs he found on the mountain path, he was very short of the asking price.
"Yes, well," he began, clearing his throat a little, "I'm afraid that is a bit out of my price range. I am, however, grateful for the ability to even look upon such a weapon."
