"Yeah, they were. Worked for birdseed, though. They never asked for much money from their patients, especially if they knew that the patient was going to die."

" As I guessed, good people. Even in a persons dying moments they still wouldn't ask from much from the. Won't be many of those nowadays right? From now on everyone is gonna be crude and mean.. "

Maveric sighed and nodded. "Yes, most likely." He studied her. She seemed like a really caring person. It must have been so traumatizing when all the realization hit her.

Rose:

She sighed and leaned against a wall, for a few moments getting lost in thoughts. She started to think about what happened when she first saw her father and younger brother dead. She didn't believe they were dead at first, she didn't believe it for a day and when they turned she thought she was right. She knew they were acting funny but she just thought they were sick.. she was so sorely wrong. She tried her best to help them, even bringing them food daily... it all went bad soon after and she lost them both so quickly. " Yeah well.. it'll get better. ' There was a slight crack to her voice, but she tried to act like it didn't happen.

He continued to observe her, not saying anything. He tried to think of anything else to take her mind off the inevitable. All he could come up with was his stupid autopsies. He had an idea that would hopefully take her mind off everything else, and he would make it sound professional. "Y'know, one time I did this autopsy on this one guy that got shot. His name was Terrell. He was standing. The shooter crouched on the ground behind him in the firing position the police used to be taught. That's what cause the upward angle. Here, let me show you." He stood and went over to her. He put one hand on her back and the other on her chest to the right and began to bend her body up and down slowly. "The most important thing is that the bullet didn't hit the shoulder blade. We have 206 bones in our bodies. The only bone that moves up and down on the other bones is the shoulder blade." He would have explained the rest of the case, but figured she wouldn't understand. His hands lingered for a moment before he took them away an put them in his pockets.

She seemed kind of nervous at the sudden touch but didn't really show it, instead she just listened to the story and nodded. " Really? I would of never been able to figure that out. I didn't think we had that many bones, but it makes sense. I guess that the body would need that many bones otherwise we might not move correctly, or as flawlessly as we can. What happened to the guy who shot the man? Did they catch him? "

"Well, Terrells shoulder blade was up when he was shot, which means his arm was over his head in surrender like the neighbors said, and he was not going for a gun in his pocket as the police claimed. So, we went to court for it and all that, and my case won. We tracked down the policeman who shot Terrell and he's probably in a jail cell somewhere, rotting away."

" Quite literally at this point. Probably already on of those.. those things. I mean it would make sense since I doubt that there are many areas left at least in the USA with many completely safe areas. Not to mention the toxic spill was in the middle of the US anyway so.. Enough about that he probably got what he had deserved in the end and now he will regret what he did for the rest of his life.

"I hope he does." Maveric shook his head. That sorry guy was probably undead by now, Rose was right.

" What do you miss the most about the stuff before this had happened? I miss going to the pool.. or the movies. "
