Malak followed Elysetta deeper into the mountains. He stayed behind her as they made their progress, but he also stayed close in case there was more danger. When he noticed something reflective on the ground, he reached out and touched Elysetta lightly on the shoulder to stop her.

"Hang on," he whispered to her and then moved forward to...

The pixie stayed behind in easy compliance as you stepped forward to investigate the glinting. Very quickly, you find that it is a nice pile of Fairs, lying abandoned on the ground.

What do you wish to do?

a) Take them
b) Ignore them
c) Kick them
d) Have Elysetta grab them

Malak had never been one to value money. His people mostly bartered. However, the pile of Fairs on the ground caused him to pause thoughtfully. He could just see the possibility of the coins falling out of the pocket of someone traveling through the mountains, but he could not imagine such a person trying to return to such a treacherous terrain to regain them.

I don't think there could be a reason not to... He thought to himself. So he with a glance back to Elysetta so see if she had anything to say he decided to...

a.) Take them

If nothing else, they would be extremely useful in purchasing a new weapon once they found the dwarves.

You count a total of ten Fairs on the ground. You collect them without any words or actions said or done.

When nothing terrible immediately leapt out at them once he picked up the Fairs, Malak considered that a good sign. He nodded to Elysetta as he pocketed them and they both...

a.) Continue

...continued on their way through the mountains.

"How much farther do you think?" he asked her casually.

"I'm not certain. Let's just hope this path takes us to a clan," Elysetta commented.

You continued along the beaten path until you saw two giant stone doors in the side of a mountain. There was a dwarf in heavy armor standing outside of them. What do you wish to do?

a) Approach the dwarf
b) Ignore her
c) Ambush her
d) Send Elysetta up
e) Leave

As they made their way along the path, Malak was feeling more at peace with each step. His body language had relaxed as he walked close to Elysetta, managing to keep his taught instincts at bay.

"I look forward to meeting another race," he mused aloud, wrapping his cloak around himself again, "Pixies having been such a delight to have gotten to know." He gave her a crooked smile, and then realized they had rounded a bend and were in sight of tow massive stone doors. There was a figure standing in front of them,
a dwarf he assumed. He glanced at Elysetta once more and then...

a.) Approach the dwarf

...stepped forward towards the dwarves where the guard could see him, trying to make himself look as non-threatening as possible.

As you approached, the guard placed a hand on her sword, but quickly relaxed. "Aye, travelers," she greeted you. "Welcome to the city of Vor, largest city of the Amanon clan. You are free to enter as you wish, unless you're dwarfs of the Nioro clan, which you don't look to be," she chuckled. "You look weary, good sir," she directed to you with a grin longer than a river. "You'll find plenty of provisions here in Vor," she added. Then, she turned to Elysetta, who had approached. "Aye, and a pixie! What a beautiful lady you are, too; what a shame it is you're taken," she winked at Elysetta and kissed her hand.

The pixie in question blushed slightly. "Thank you, ma'am," she replied.

The dwarf nodded kindly. "Of course," she responded, and then turned around and used a rather large key to unlock the doors. "And here you go, gentle souls," she added as she opened one of the doors, which seemed very heavy, although the opened it with ease.

What do you wish to do?

b) Enter the city
c) Attack the dwarf

Malak was immediately struck by the warm welcome the dwarf gave them. After their recent abduction, the friendliness felt odd to him, but his eyes brightened as he smiled behind his face scarf and he nodded at the dwarf. He opened his mouth to return her greeting when...

Taken... Malak frowned ever so slightly as he glanced in Elysetta's direction. He knew from when he entered the tree to get the stone for her that there had been someone in her life, and yet somehow his time with her after that had made him forget. The dwarf's comment reminded him once again that Elysetta was not only not a human, but she was tied to another in some way she had chosen not to tell him.

b.) Stay and chat

"We thank you for your welcome, madam," he told her, his tone formal as he took a small step to put some distance between himself and his companion, "Do you perhaps know of anyone in particular in your city who could help fashion me a new weapon? I have lost mine."

Elysetta frowned as you stepped a bit away from her, but she neglected to say anything. The dwarven guard continued to wear her everlasting smile. "Of course! There are plenty of blacksmiths in Vor. My name is Hanagar, by the way," she introduced herself. "If you go to Borgken's and drop my name, you might even get a discount, and he's one of the best blacksmiths I know," she told you.

What do you wish to do?

a) Stay and chat
b) Enter Vor
c) Attack Hanagar
d) Leave
