Nothing seemed to be wrong as they started playing the game, there hadn't been any sign of Meara for some time though there hadn't been anything noticeably wrong. Yal and Amethyst had been lost from his field but that wasn't unexpected either, she may have chased the tag somewhere he would be difficult to find. There was that old shipwreck with all of the metal parts. The silty, murky appearance coming out of the kelp suggested that Kanakwella was doing her part. ~Your doing a wonderful job princess. That won't make it very easy for your brother. Aleria, take topside and keep an eye out for the others.~ He projected. He had been following behind Kanakwella and the wild stallion was admiring how graceful she swam through the streams. She had smart, beautiful lines that made her a very choice mate for one of his breeding. He looked back at Akega with a smile, then swam in after Kanakwella, stirring up the bottom just as badly, then weaving back and forth along Kanakwellas track to try and confuse Akega and hopefully Raka. He had an easy enough time catching up with his future queen and he started weaving about her to give her the idea to do the same. Then he had a vision of Meara, yelling at him again. "I wouldn't carry your seed if you were the last male on the planet!" A cold reminder that at least one of them already thought him unworthy, and he wondered for a moment if that was what Kanakwella thought too. Unfortunately the smile upon his face turned into a grimace as he started sensing the kelparie blood in the water that Meara had sensed earlier. His worry started gathering energy as they began to clear the far end of the kelp and Raka wasn't there to tag them. If he was here he would have already sensed the blood and probably went to check on Amethyst and her brother. There was no telling who may have been hurt, but the game wasn't more important than the health and survival of every kelparie with him.
"Oly, oly, oxen free everybody! Let's go check on the others and make sure everybody is okay." He called out. By now everybody probably sensed the blood. The greatest source was coming from the cargo hold of a wrecked ship, but the fresher source was coming from shore where they had been recently. Mermydon led the other straight up to the surface so they could investigate from the safety of deep water. His head bobbed above the surface and he saw Meara, Amethyst, Yal and two other kelparie he didn't know; the stranger next to Meara wasn't conscious. "Meara! Amethyst! Is everything okay over there?" He called out. Knowing the area they were wasn't particularly safe, after all they had left it because somebody knew they were around that location.

Raka froze where he was, fanning his fins open to halt his forward movement. He immediately forgot all about the game. There was blood in the water. Kelpari blood. He honed in on the source, the old shipwreck and dove towards a hole in the deck of the ship. He searched the whole ship using all his senses, whoever had been injured wasn't here anymore that was obvious within moments of entering the ship. He searched more to satisfy the need to know the possible culprit than anything else. After all there was so much blood in the water that whoever had been injured couldn't possibly have left on their own and must already be receiving aid.
At Mermydon's call Raka snapped back into action, exiting the ship and swimming past Mermydon to communicate what he had found. He then sped off in the direction he had seen Amethyst heading when they started the game.

Uryi held her position well not letting Amethyst through to Yal in case she had intended to hurt Yal. Amethyst swam forward but then swam back in fear of Uryi attacking. She looked around at Yal. This game wasn't going so well but she noticed Uryi wasn't in such good shape. She had slight cuts that bleed in the water. It was enough to make it stink to anyone who couldn't stand the smell. Amethyst knew Uryi wouldn't move till Yal was safe. Amethyst swam back farther. "Good we don't need to fight." Uryi said. "Now why do you need Yal if I might ask?" Amethyst gulped and she turned to run only to see the shape of a kelpari off in the distance. She couldn't tell who it was only that it might be another team mate. Uryi shifted slightly and moved to slightly to let Yal stand by her. Amethyst quickly tried to tag Yal but her leg got hit by Uryi's hoof. She pulled back in slight shock. Could this game have gone worse? She looked at the hit and saw a cut. Then she knew Uryi's hooves were sharp and worn from no tender care that most did use when considering their hooves. Uryi took on a challenging stance. She challenged Amethyst to swim closer. Amethyst froze.

As soon as Raka caught sight of Amethyst he picked up speed. There was blood in the water here too, different blood but still kelpari. There was Yal, that explained why Amethyst was here at least but...
There was another mare acting rather confrontational and, at least from where he stood being rather aggressive.
Raka swam up beside Amethyst then in front of her, forcing her back away from the strange mare. When Amethyst tried to approach again Raka slapped the water with his tail in a warning not only to her but to the other mare as well. Raka took up a confrontational stance and glared at the mare, flaring his fins in a display of warning.

Uryi looked at Raka and knew he wasn't normal. She looked back at Amethyst then back at him. "You don't know me." Uryi said. "And I don't know you. I wouldn't like to keep it this way but I first need an explanation. Why are you trying to get to Yal?" Uryi smiled and she looked at Amethyst. "I meant no harm." Uryi said to Amethyst. "I am but a mare who protects who she loves from unknown outside sources." She then looks back at Raka.

Raka did not waver in his stance. There was something off about this mare, he could sense it.
He spoke in a low authoritative voice, looking the mare right in the eye. "Just a game. Who are you?"
As he said this he projected towards Amethyst that he meant business. No more games. For the first time in his life Raka was taking a position of power in his interactions with them. He maintained his stern attitude towards both the stranger and Amethyst.

"Uryi, I am from the Shragnmei Ryi Kingdom. I was born to the queen but taken hostage by Blood's rebellion for sport. There I met Yal he and we fell in love. Is that clear enough for you tastes?" Uryi asked not acting sassy more on the low side of things. Her defensive posture degraded and she smiled easily. Yal looked cautiously between Raka and Uryi worried that they might start fighting.
Amethyst rubbed her leg gently. She wasn't expecting any of this especially that Uryi was technically a princess and was with her brother. It was shocking yet she did notice that Yal was concerned for her.

Raka narrowed his eyes and looked between her and Yal. He slapped the water with his tail once more, this time more in hopes of attracting the attention of Mermydon and the others.
"Well then your highness, and I say that rather hesitantly as I have never heard of such a kingdom. I'd prefer if you stayed away from my mate."
It really wasn't like Raka to act so, well, stallion like. Taking charge of the situation and asserting his dominance over the others but, then again he now had a mate to protect.
He slapped the water again and forced Amethyst further back.

Aleria held her head high wondering what was going on she had been enjoying the game, all the rushing around and friendly compition she slowed her pace by holding her tail up spreading the fins wide agianst the rush of water she glided to a stop.she could smell blood in the water,is it one of the kelparies in the group she wondered it took her seconds to see Amethyst and raka talking to another strange kelpari male.

Getting ignored by a clear family matter wasn't something Mermydon expected as he and the others approached. "Raka, take Amethyst and give these two a few furlongs of space. I'm sure Akega would agree that this isn't a Hallenjax matter." He said politely to Deidriel referring to Yal and his mate. He could sense the wound on Amethyst at Ulyi's hoof and took advantage of that."See to Amethyst and allow Akega and I to handle this, we don't have family in this matter." He smiled reassuringly to Raka. He took in Meara's electromagentic signature on the situation with her patient. "If you have him stable Meara, I'll come assist with his healing once we settle things with Yal and Amethyst, okay?" He was certain she felt his life would be more important than this family affair. But Mermydon projected his confidence in her ability to treat her patient and was giving him the space she would need to do everyting she could for him. He turned to Ulyi and she could tell by the way the others deferred to him that this guy was in charge of this school. "I think we have a little misunderstanding here. Yal is Amethyst's baby brother and we rescued him from that very unpleasant morkko. Don't worry about him, he'll be sprite poop by this time tomorrow, if you like we can show you his cleaned bones.
Yal hadn't been very responsive to us or his sister so I thought it would help him open up to play a simple game of trout tag, using Yal as the 'tag.' We had no idea that he might've thought we were cannibals that would eat him for doing that. So the fault for that falls solely on my neck. However, Amethyst would like to reconnect with her brother and I would consider it a great kindness, if you would permit her access to her baby brother. I'm sure there is much more to talk about but for now I need to check on Meara's patient at the moment. Please, excuse me." He said confidently and projected the earnestness of his words.
