((OOC: Sorry I am so late to reply guys.))

Meara was clearly hot with him. He thought it best to let her cool down and perhaps the two of them could discuss the problem privately. She had healed him and he in turn had need to heal her; he couldn't understand why she was so offended that he saved her with the 'kiss of life'? It was on his mind when he gathered everyone else for the game of trout tag. It was the only game he knew had been handed down since the days of Hallenjax. When Akega suggested they play in teams and Raka seconded, Mermydon smiled back. "Teams it is then." He agreed with them. "I was able to bring Kanakwella, Aleria and Amethyst to come. Yal seems a little distracted, and Meara needs to cool off. Not certain what's eating at her, but I hope she will tell me before the sun sets." He shared with the stallions. "Akega, you shall captain your team and I shall captain the other. Why don't you and Raka choose one of the mares for your team, and my team will take the first sortie. After the game, I will take you all to see Shaledon and show you as I tell you what happened here 18 seasons ago."

Yal thought about her how she would say how stupid he was for longing for someone who could understand him. He then shook himself but he saw her. He remembered how she had been so kind to him even though they were forced in such close quarters. He could remember how she smelled of sweet things he couldn't explain. He remembered how she looked. Though it was just a rough image

He longed for her even though he knew it was stupid and he shouldn't. He remembered the luffox he had seen after she had disappeared and deep down he somehow now knew it was her. He had seen how it looked at him lovingly and now he wished to see her.

Amethyst knew Raka would probably chose her but she never knew with the kelpari these days. She just wished her brother would be okay though she felt like he would pull away at anytime and forget her. She hated the idea of it but she felt that way.

Well then teams of three it was. "Amethyst would you care to join us?" Raka knew Akega wouldn't object to him choosing their teammate. He would have to convey the strategy to her carefully, when facing other kelpari it was important to know the plan already as sending out too much information would let the other team know what they were about to do.

Amethyst swam over to him. Raka brushed against her so that their laterals made contact and whispered in her ear. "Akega will make the chase, its our job to cover him and ensure the target doesn't get away. You cover him from the others, I'll coral the target. When we play prey, you stay close to him. Swim in his wake and follow his lead. If they rush you scatter and re group as fast as possible while I distract them to give you two enough time. My job is to play decoy, got it?" Raka gave her a wink then moved to brush against akega in a similar, yet less intimate manor. "Amethyst is on guard." That was all that he needed to say as Akega knew the strategy as well as he did, all he needed to do was confirm Amethyst's role for him.

Though he didn't say anything, Raka felt more the leader than Akega. After all, he had always been the strategist between the two of them.

"Got it." Amethyst got ready and she closed her eyes. She took in a deep breath. She had never played this game but she was ready for anything now. She wondered what this was but it sounded fun. She sighed. If only Yal would of joined in. He would have been great at it.

Mermydon just smiled as he separated from the other team to discuss strategy, though Raka had already played into giving Mermydon an advantage. He opted for his mate rather than one of the sea unicorns, though he doubted the mares would deliberately use their horns to jab in on the play; at least he hoped they weren't so all fire competitive. Plus Kanakwella will have watched or played this game with Raka and Akega all throughout their foalhood, so she could project what they were planning to do. He brushed against Kanakwella on his left and Aleria on his right so they could lay out the REAL strategy. ~I'm not planning to win fillys, so let's have lots of fun. Let's make our first sortie a chariot play. Kanakwella you are the smallest so you will be 'the prey.'~ He already noticed that she wasn't as fast as her brother but she made up for it with great agility and faster maneuverability in tight places. ~Aleria, you will lead Kanakwella on her left lead flank and I will lead Kanakwella opposite you on the right front flank. When they converge upon us You and I will perform stallion-to-stallion coverage on their guards and create a pocket between us for Kanakwella to pick up speed. Princess, don't make straight down the middle of the field, find the nearest patch of kelp and weave your way through the forest. That will slow down your brother. Take the chase towards Yal as best you can he is the actual trout, tag him and we win the sortie.~ He told them. ~As we close on Yal, project some good loving thoughts to him you may have had toward your brothers, I will do likewise about my sisters and see if we can't get him out of his funk. I'll bet by the second or third sortie the others will pick up on the ploy. Okay, let's get to it.~

He looked over the the others, who appeared ready. "We choose Yal as our tag." He called over to them with a wink, though Yal couldn't hear them. He noticed Amethyst stare for a moment when he named Yal instead of a lake trout. My team is ready if you are? 'Kanie' is 'the prey.' He said as he took his position. Unlike their surface dwelling companions, kelparie had the luxury of resting half their brain at a time. So play would let them give their cognitive and serious thinking side a break and allow their playful and carnal side to exercise itself. He expected Dhuka and Amara were glad for a break and Smit seemed to take an interest in Mermydon's new friend from the forest. He wasn't sure what happened to Kipper or Heroine and her egg, but he expected the two of them were okay. As his cognitive half started resting, Mermydon was surprised that although he was happy to be spending and sharing time with Kanakwella, his betrothed. A good part of him was missing and desiring to be with Meara! He had been pushing it to the back of his mind, but her presence had been trying to cloud his thoughts ever since he regained consciousness. He wanted to dismiss it so he could play his best, but her tomboyish charms and screaming words that were hiding something beneath them would bleed into his thoughts while they played.

Meara~female~Kelpiri

The smell grew stronger the closer she got to the ship. Something was definitely wrong. It didn't smell much like prey blood, no it smelled more like a predator's hitch made her wonder why she drew closer yet. What if it was trouble? It would be better than playing some goal game with the others. Taking a breath she pushed herself into the darkness of the ship.
It was very roomy in the place, even if it was dark. The smell was stronger here, nearly causing the water around her to appear a pinkish color. What ever was injured was here. Slowly she krept forward, making sure her steps were true. That was when the male came into sight. His scales were a reddish brown color with yellow patterns on them. A large gash stood out on his side clearly a wound he just recived. All in all he was nearly just skin and bones yet he still appeared to be strong. Motherly instincts took over then causing her to approach the stranger. His breath was soft but steady. Using the last of her own strength she took hold of his mane and pulled him across the board of the ship towards the beach. Once safe on land she liked over him. If the bleeding wasn't stopped he would surely die.

Blue and Lyrica traveled through the vast field. The grass seemed to be endless, save for the mountain and forests in the distance. Lyrica sat quietly on Blue's back, thinking of the words to a new traveling song as she gazed around with eyes of wonder.

Amara was standing on her own now, though she was moving quite slow she was at least doing something. She had never ventured to this island before so the layout was quite strange to her. It seemed as if though the forest was mostly tropical something foreign to her. " Hey... Smit have you ever seen trees like this?" she asked at an almost whisper

Raka had suspected Mermydon had been planning something with this game. That stallion was a born strategist and would make an excellent diplomat were he given the chance. So he wasn't all that surprised when he suggested that Yal be their trout. Sometimes when Raka and Akega had been upset, Kanakwella would take initiative as Akega's big sister and encourage the two to play a game even if they weren't in the mood.

For a moment Raka's mind wandered to the fact that Kanakwella was no longer older than him and Akega. She had been some two years older, but now the there of them didn't seem more than eight months apart with Kanakwella having somehow ended up the youngest out of all of them. She seemed to know it too, she wasn't quite so doting as she had been. Though perhaps that was more due to the rather imposing figures the two of them were now that they were full grown, especially Akega.

Raka shook these thoughts from his mind, it was a bad habit of his to let his mind wander so much though it was difficult not to what with all his newly recovered memories.

Raka addressed Mermydon "A little unorthodox but, why not. Seems our trout could do with a little cheering no?" At this Raka turned and gave Amethyst a sort of look that seemed to ask whether she was okay with this plan.
