Kipper scampered out of the way of the flailing mare and dashed a little ways down the shore. Perhaps she would do better to stick closer to her smaller companions until things calmed down. She trotted up to Smit and Amara, kicking the last bit of mud of her leg as she did so.

Amara had gone back to looking at her Paws when she noticed Kipper approach them. she looked up at her and offered a shy smile but didn't speak. She was not going to lie to herself she was quite tiered and using her Orb had drained most of her energy. She was hoping Smit would jump in and speak.

Smiling he looked down at the little sea born creature. "So ye want to help out th' crew? Jump on th' poop deck 'o 'tis merry wee crew 'n gather pirates! We could use another set 'o paws to help us out. Got a lot 'o famished chippers if ye be knowin' what I be sayin." It was a bit much to be saying but at the rate they were going they could really use another hand in gathering food for the lot that had literally fought the whole of the day away. " That be if ye aren't scared 'o gettin' them pretty wee mitts 'o yours a wee bit dirty."

"Maybe you should just keep your lips clean for your pretty little princess then instead of wasting a kiss on a hag like me!" The mare shouted again struggling to stand. Again she fell straight into the mud this time with a rather sickening thud. "The next time I feel your slithery little tongue snake down my throat I'll bit it off!"

Meara clearly had a very low opinion of herself. "I don't know who called you a hag, but whoever they are is a fool. I know what a hag is imprisoned by one a great many seaons among the merfolk, and if that is what you are comparing yourself as you're looks are a goddess by comparison. For that matter, who are you to tell me my opinion of who and what I find beautiful in this world?" He stepped forward to where she dropped herself in the mud again. "Pick yourself up Meara. Name for me anyone among us that sees you as a hag and a homely creature. The only one doing that is you." He took the top of her mane in his teeth and made her look at her reflection in the water and stood over her, forcing her down if he needed to prove his dominance as a male. "I think it's awful that you cut yourself down so. You are a great and beautiful healer who always manages to show up at the perfect time when she is needed the most. You have the self-esteem to deny a prince to breed with you, then tear yourself apart whenever anyone thinks well of you. That does not agree with what I have witnessed first hand. I have invited you into my company, hopefully one day to help rebuild this kingdom, if not by your hoof then hopefully through your seed. I accept you as you are, and she is a beautiful mare in my eyes. Why can't you see that about yourself?" He stopped standing over her and walked back toward Kanakwella. He noticed that the princess was enjoying watching her brother and Raka play. She was still a filly at heart and he too needed to chill out a little. "Come on Kanakwella, let's go have a game of trout tag with the others!" He said with some excitement. As she approached him, he dipped his head under hers apologetically. "Thank you for allowing me to revive her, my queen. I pray that my lips will belong only to you from this day forward." He whispered softly. He turned to look at Meara momentarily. "You can come play with us too, you'll be welcome." He said to her. He gave Meara time to make eye contact with him and show her a smile over his shoulder and rump then trotted off toward Amethyst and Yal. "Hey Yal, Amethyst come over here and play some trout tag!" He hollered over to them. Those that wanted to play, he led over to Akega and Raka, "So, do you think you to Hallenjax hacks got sport enough for a game of trout tag?" He challenged with an impish smile on his face.

Raka shot a sidelong glance at Akega and smiled impishly. "We may have some experience, I'll warn you though. Akega's faster than he looks."
Raka couldn't help but feel like a child again, here with his old friend once again. Free for what was quite possibly the first time in 600 years to frolic and play with little worry about anything else.
Raka approached Mermydon confidently, the beaded chains of his father's armour clinked softly and caught the light. Mermydon took notice and seemed rather shocked to say the least. He had after all just mentioned being a captive of the merfolk and likely recognized the craftsmanship. True the set was incomplete, his father had fled while they were preparing for battle and was only just beginning to be tacked up. None the less, even without the banners bearing the insignia of the mermish royals it was quite obvious no creature without hands had crafted it.

Meara~female~Kelpiri
She fought to pull her head away from him though her strength was failing her. "I wouldn't carry your seed if you were the last male on the planet!" Swinging her tail about in the mud she broke free though it felt wrong. She had given him her life and he just gave it back. He didn't care about her, plain and simple. With that she slipped into the water, washing away the mud from her body as she dove to the depths. How could he? To kiss one then move on like she was nothing! It made her sick! Angry now she stamped her foot on the lake floor and slapped her tail against the water. HOW? A few bubbles made their way from her snout as she snorted. All she needed was to calm down some. Taking a breath she sighed. That was when she smelt it. Blood. But who was bleeding? Turning her head she looked about to find a trail leading to a sunken ship. Was it prey or something more?

Yal didn't move. He just longed for some sylesti that understood him. All he knew who understood him was her. He closed his eyes and thought of her question. She had been so sweet to him though they had been forced to kill many until they had met. He couldn't do it and now he was forever without her. She was gone for sure. He felt the tears but held them back. He knew know why he had protected Amethyst so fiercely. He had seen more pain and hurt than her so she couldn't comfort him enough to make him feel welcomed.
Amethyst swam over to the leader kelpari happily only to see Yal deep in thought.

Raka fell into place beside Akega, "I say we play in teams, it'll give me a little hunting practice at least." Raka winked at Akega, hopefully he still remembered their old strategies.
Raka and Akega were both strong swimmers but of a different sort. Akega had the stronger tail and could keep up a good speed, even in deep water. Raka was slower overall but much better at maneuvering and could always bust out a sudden burst of speed using his wing-fins. Not to mention how adept he was in shallow water.
He remembered their favourite strategy well. Akega would pursue the target while Raka corralled them from the sides. They would chase them into shallower waters where Raka was strongest while akega blocked their escape into deeper waters, at which point Raka would go in for the kill.
Raka smiled to himself at the memory.
