"I didn't expect that whoever it is would still be following," Jay iterated with a huff. Even though he squinted, he couldn't say exactly what did follow them. It did seem like the size and shape looked like something that would make those tracks he saw before. "Why are they even following us? Maybe we should hide and see if they pass by. Maybe they aren't following us?" But it seemed so unlikely since there weren't many animals in this area. Why come exactly in this direction if not to catch up with them?

Genesis gave August a rather stupid look. "Of course I want to stay here. This is my home. I've always been here! The witch has provided a paradise, so what more could anyone want?" She knew no other world could be better than this one, though she supposed, she didn't think she'd seen any other. It was just The Menagerie for her. Looking forward again, she squinted. "Ah, I think I can see your friends up ahead, but they keep moving further away."

"Jay are you willing to do me a favor and end this question of what's following us for good? If so fly up high enough so that, that thing cannot grab you while you can see what the animal is that's following us. Do you think you can do that," Scarlet asks, "Hunter and I will stya right here."

August dipped his head, deciding to adress Genesis's question on a later date. "I see them too. But if they're walking away, we better hurry," He advised, beating his wings faster.

Hunter sits down when Scarlet says that they would stay right here. "Can I take a nap?" Hunter asks, mouth opening in a big yawn. "That sounds like a good plan." Hunter says with a chuckle, lowering his head half sort of surprised that he had yawned half really truly tired, feet about to fall off. "Its been a great chase..." Hunter shakes his head and hops back into his feet.
"I'm not tired!" Hunter says, shaking his whole body to try and wake himself up.

"Take a nap Hunter you are praticially falling asleep on your feet," Scarlet looks at Hunter, "I will stand guard okay? If you want I can even try to sing you a lullaby."

"Okay... I don't need a lullaby. Thanks though." Hunter says, collapses in the floor and instantly falls asleep.

Scarlet chuckles softly, "Of course not I was just kidding."

"A-alright, I'll do my best," Jay murmured before he flew off. He knew that he was safe from almost anything on the ground, but it made him nervous to leave the others. Last time he decided to rush off from them, someone got lost. This was important though.

As he got nearer to the others following them, their shapes became far more clear. One was definitely a bird, the other maybe...a ferret? He wished he knew animals a bit better by sight. "Who is that?!" he called out when the distance between them was but a couple of yards.

"Yes, yes, hurry indeed!" Genesis just about purred. She bounded forward, her eyes bright when she realized that one of the shapes was circling back toward them. It left her jumping up on her back paws, waving wildly at the bird that addressed them. "Hello! My name is Genesis and I want to be your friend!"

August glanced up at the Blue Jay, eyes pinning in satisfaction upon realizing this had to be one of the people he was looking for, then glided over to close the distance between them. "And I'm called August. It's nice to meet you.... Jay, right? Mrs. Mouse told me about you, Scarlet, and Hunter."

Scarlet looks at Jay trying to keep sight of the little blue jay. Her ears twitch as she watches before hearing Jay call out to the others. Scarlet takes a half step toward Jay but stops trying not to scare the others or provoke them.
