'' We can eat almost any food we just have some preferrence for the one that screem between our jaws.'' "Say, Seven, if you wished to be called that, do human emotions interest you? They surely interest me." Kuro was now talking about her own interests, but she hoped the Number she was speaking to would be tolerant of it. Maybe the Number would be interested as well. "It's very intriguing to me. Where do our emotions come from? Why do we have them? I know it's just our brains sending electric signals here and there, but is there really a purpose?" She paused, then added darkly to herself, "it would be so much better if they didn't exist. They're so pointless." The last part she said so quietly perhaps even someone within half a meter wouldn't hear. But, maybe, Numbers have better hearing than humans.

"Oh, I see. You seem to be interested in the more negative, destructive emotions of humans." Kuro smiles. "Those interest me as well. You can drive a human insane if you pull on the right strings at the right times." She finds a nice grassy patch in the greenhouse and sits down, dusting off her book of fairy tales as she promptly ignores him breathing down her neck. "Isn't love the same, though, if not more dangerous and destructive? Some humans seem to have a very wrong view of the emotion love. They think that it is the opposite of hate, where nothing can be closer to hate than love. Hate is kind of an obsessive love where you really want the other person to suffer, no? To me, it seems that the two are one and the same under different names."

Kuro noted his next point about humans never being able to know about Numbers should there be no emotion. "But I do find it strange; why wouldn't we not be able to know about you should we lose our ability to feel? Are you creatures that stem from emotions?"

Despite im being not visible to you, the long blades of grass were making a faint outline of where he was.
