yep, I'm actually already of thinking one now, but before I post it... Do we have to write a story, or can we just rewrite the poem? Edit: To like our own version of it...?

Original: Peter, Peter, pumpkin-eater,
Had a wife and couldnt keep her;
He put her in a pumpkin shell,
And there he kept her very well
Alternate I found online as Inspiration: Eeper Weeper, chimbly (chimney) sweeper,
Had a wife but couldnt keep her.
Had another, didnt love her,
Up the chimbly he did shove her.
My Version: Here comes the Grim Reaper,
He's the one that shoves them deeper,
Deeper into the pumpkin at hand.
None of it was ever planned,
it came across his mind as his wife almost left.
It was then he felt bereft,
so he introduced her to his best pumpkin,
and they were best friends...
Until the end.
Side-note: It's not the best thing, compared to all the other entries... :( But, i thought it was kinda fun

Took me a while to finish this, but I think it came out well. c:
Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater
The autumn morning sun shone clear and bright over the grassy field below, the wind blowing cool and sharp through the quiet woods until the silence was broken by a single high pitched scream.
"You scream like a girl, Johnson!" A ruddy faced boy laughed as he stared down at the sandy haired figure below him. "Aw what, are you crying? What a wuss!" The larger boy continued to snicker as he watched the other try to blink away the tears flowing down his dirty cheeks and hold his bloodied arm up against his chest.
"P...Please, Nick. I didn't know that you and Sally..." The sentence ended abruptly with a yelp as the boy was dragged up by the collar of his shirt, his legs kicking uselessly in the air as he was held aloft by the thick arm of Nick.
"You shut up, I don't care what you knew. You're in big trouble now..." Nick turned his head as he heard the panting breaths of his friends and grinned as they came into view. "Took you long enough!" The three new arrivals shrugged, the smallest one simply holding up a camera as he spoke.
"Well sorry, was hard to find. But we have it now." Nick grinned again and turned back to the boy who was still squirming in his grip.
"Told you that you were in trouble, now come on, Peter, let's have some fun." Nick smiled as he slammed Pete back down against the ground, his back pressed painfully up against the vegetation behind him as one of Nick's friends grabbed him and held him in place. Peter looked around in confusion as Nick began looking at the pumpkins that grew in the field before widening his eyes slightly as he began to viciously kick in the bottom of one until it was half hollow, the bright orange guts of the pumpkin spilling out onto the ground.
"What...What are you?" Peter let out a cry as one of the boys slapped him, sneering down at him, and he missed Nick cutting the pumpkin free of the vine with a pocket knife and hauling it up as he shook the spots dancing across his vision away. When he turned back around he found his head immediately engulfed in the sticky innards of the pumpkin and his confused scream only left him with a mouth full of slime. The boys around him laughed as one pulled out a length of rope, knotting Peter's arms behind him as he sat on the ground, trying to get his bearings.
"Think you're better than me just because your idiot father owns this farm? Think you can try to steal Sally from me? Well, I'll tell you what, Peter," Nick sneered out the word as he looked down at the boy in front of him as his shorter friend began to take some pictures, "all you're going to do is eat your stupid pumpkins. You'll never be good enough for anyone, especially not Sally.
The boys backed up and away from Peter as he began to try and get up, wobbling wildly as he tried to make his way back to his house, the camera clicking rapidly as the laughing boys got as many pictures as they could. One of the laughing boys shouted out, "Yeah! Peter Peter pumpkin eater!" This increased the laughter even more for the boys before they decided to leave him, walking away through the woods and leaving the confused Peter to stumble back towards his house.
The next day found various pictures of Peter with his pumpkin head around the school, each of them inscribed with a sloppy "Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater." Peter didn't dare meet the eyes of any of his school mates, and took all the shoves and laughter. He didn't even dare to speak a word to the teachers when he was called in about the incident a few days later, and they eventually let him leave with the promise that if he ever told them who had done this to him, they would expel them immediately.
Peter's life went on after the incident. He never grew to an impressive height, standing smaller than some of the award winning pumpkins he helped his father raise. He was awkward and quiet around others, especially girls, and boys like Nick continued to push him around well into adulthood.
Peter slowly wiped the sweat from his brow as he smiled up at the truly massive pumpkin that he had finally managed to slide into its place in the box. He let out a soft sigh before looking up at the other people setting up at the state fair he was attending. Though he saw some very large pumpkins, none looked anywhere near the size of his. He enjoyed his pride for a moment before a feminine voice caught his attention, causing him to turn around quickly.
"Wow, you have quite the pumpkin there. I think everyone else had best start shooting for second." The statement was followed by soft laughter that caused Peter's cheeks to heat before he gave a nervous smile at the woman before him.
"Oh, you uh. Never know. Some pumpkins are...Denser than they look." He almost smacked himself as he tried not to grimace at how stupid he must have sounded. The woman merely stifled another laugh as she held her hand out to him, her white teeth flashing into a smile as her eyes sparked with amusement.
"I'm Monica." Peter managed to shake her hand and not stutter on his reply.
"Peter. Peter Johnson." Monica smiled at him again and Peter struggled and ultimately failed to keep a blush off of his face as she gestured behind herself at the fairgrounds.
"Well, Peter Johnson. Why don't we see what else is at this fair besides pumpkins?" His eyes widened but he nodded, offering a shy smile as he followed her as turned on her heel and began walking out.
It turns out there was plenty to see at the fair besides pumpkins, and Monica showed Peter almost all of it. After learning he was indeed taking home the prize for largest pumpkin he hesitated before turning to look for Monica, finding her not to far away, just ending her clapping for the announcement. He was about to approach her when she flounced up to him and gave him a peck on the cheek which caused him to go scarlet. "Seeing as you've won, why don't you take that prize money to good use and take me out for dinner sometime?" She gave him a grin that he returned, ducking his head slightly and letting his sandy fringe hide a bit of his face.
"Ab...Absolutely." As he looked back up at her he smiled widely, his cheeks beginning to sting a bit at the effort. She smiled and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen before scribbling on it and handing it to him and then turning and walking away, throwing him a wave over her shoulder.
The date went well, as did the next several. It wasn't long before Peter had picked out a ring and managed to pluck up the courage to ask Monica to marry him. To his great surprise she said yes. Their wedding was small and quiet, taking place in the pumpkin field he'd inherited when his father had passed on a few years before. Peter had never been so happy in his life. He was successful and had a beautiful wife who loved him. He almost thought that it was too good to be true.
"Mmm...We've got the bread and the hamburger meat, what else were we looking for?" Peter turned his head away from his shopping list to look at his wife beside him and in the process banged his cart into something solid ahead of him. A masculine voice let out a loud swear as he turned back quickly to apologize. "O-oh! I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going..." Peter trailed off as he looked at the large, angry man in front of him. He looked ready to take a swing at him before a curious expression crossed his face.
"Wait a minute...Peter? Haha, it has to be! Little Peter Peter pumpkin eater, I haven't seen you in years!" Peter's eyes widened considerably as he grimaced, taking a closer look at the man in front of him.
"Oh...Nick. Yeah, it's been a while." The large man guffawed and slapped at Peter's shoulder, nearly knocking him over sideways. As he shook his head to clear it, he missed the appraising look Nick sent to his wife and her accompanying blush. The burly man wrapped his arm around the thin frame of the other, laughing as he held him close and looking over to his wife.
"Who's this with you? Finally trick a girl into marrying you? She's much too good for you, what's your name, beautiful?" Peter's cheeks burned in shame as his wife answered Nick and they chatted for a few moments before he was shoved away. "Well, I'm off now. Let's keep in touch. Its been entirely long since I last saw you, Petey. Pete mustered up something resembling a smile and muttered an affirmative as he watched Monica easily give the burly man their contact information, and was in a subdued mood the rest of the shopping trip. He was in fact, so distracted by his unrest at the encounter, he didn't even notice his wife's lack of concern over him.
Over the next few months Peter saw more of Nick than he ever desired to for the rest of his life. It seemed to him like the man was always there, all meaty fists and too loud laughter. What distressed him the most was how much Monica seemed to enjoy being around him. He couldn't bear the thought of disappointing her so he kept quiet about his thoughts on their new friend. He later considered this to be the biggest mistake of his life.
"Monica, have you seen where I left my..." Peter abruptly lost his train of thought as his arm dropped away from the knob of the door, his eyes taking in his house before him. It seemed remarkably unchanged, except. "Mon...Monica. What are these suitcases doing out? Are we taking a trip?" He tried to keep the panic out of his voice as he croaked the question to the empty room around him. He could feel his head swimming as he tried to catch sight of his wife. When he finally did, a suitcase in her hand a solemn look on her face, he nearly burst into tears. Monica He felt his throat get tight and hot as he watched her face.
"Peter...I'm sorry to have to do this to you. You're a very sweet man, and I'm forever grateful that I met you. But the truth is, we just don't...Get along the way I thought we would. You're so distant from me and...Passive. I thought you were the man I wanted in my life but the truth is that you never stand up to anyone. And any man who cant do that isn't much of a man at all." Peter felt something inside of him break as he looked at his beautiful wife. She was going to leave him. She would probably go to Nick. Nick, who had made his childhood miserable. Big, stupid, cruel, Nick. Peter suddenly felt his insides spark up into a fire, his hands clenching into fists as he could practically see a red mist over his eyes.
"Not...A man. I'm not a man? Who is? Nick? Hes been a beast his entire life. Is that what you want from me? Some hulking beast?" Peters voice rose in volume with each word until he was screaming, his voice coming out as raw as his tangle of emotions. He saw his wife's face grow shocked and pale as she took a step back from him, but he took two and was upon her. "You're...You're not leaving me."
When he thought of it later it surprised him how much strength he had. She hadn't expected it either. Not the first time his fist connected, the crack echoing sharply in the room. Not the second, nor any of the following blows. He sat back on the cool dirt, feeling his back mold against the rounded surface behind him as he examined the red and orange fluids drying across his hands and all down his arms. He let his eyes shut for a second before looking before gazing at the massive pumpkin in front of him, murmuring softly to himself. "Peter Peter pumpkin eater...Has a wife, made sure to keep her. Massive pumpkin holds his bride, will keep her safe deep inside. Peter did it with his own two hands. Showed them all that hes a man."
The laughter that burst from his throat after startled even him a little, but as he waited on that farm, he was soon grateful for it to break up the silence. He wasn't sure how long he sat there, not getting up for food or water and merely staring at his lovely pumpkin, taking turns between laughing at the absurdity of the situation and cursing Nick for causing it all in the first place. Eventually though, he felt himself lie down, throat dry, limbs weak, eyes tired. He told himself it would be a nice nap.
His body made excellent fertilizer for his pumpkins.
