"Maybe we should make a pact not to get separated again in the first place," Jay joked, though it was the only real solution to their problem, it seemed. The Menagerie wouldn't let them stay in contact if they parted ways and they each had different skills and more prominent senses. It made him miss the wonderful days of cellphones and GPS. "I suppose we can make compasses with lodestones, but we'd have to find that first," he mused. "Oh, and I don't know if it was a small cat or a weasel or what. I saw the tracks after these eyes were watching us. Gave me all sorts of shivers!"

"My name is Genesis," The ferret said, rolling onto her back and grinning up the parrot. "What's your name? I would love to get to be your friend as well. Then we can go find your other friends and stop all this restlessness. I don't like restless animals."

Mrs. Mouse peeked around the corner but saw no animals immediately. "I think the way is clear. This looks like the way to the upper floor. I can see the skylight! But..." She squinted as she slipped into the room, looking around. "There's something strange about the light in here..."

You seem like quite the restless animal yourself, but I won't judge... August noted. "You can call me August. It's nice to meet you." He replied with a dip of his head.

"That's accually a really good idea Jay to keep us from getting seperated is to make a pact," Scarlet agrees, "and to make compasses but where would we find the lodestones or leaves, water, and paper clip?" Looking around again Scarlet tries to make sure nothing follows them, "I believe you.''

"I don't even really know what half of those just meant, Scarlet." Hunter says appologetically. "And I'll try to keep up."

"Jay suggests an agreement not to get seperated and a compass always points north unless something magnetic is nearby it. It's what a bird has in their beak to make them know which way is north. Also Jay was referring to a componet in compasses," Scarlet tries to explain.

"Really? That's cool! I'd want a... compass on me at all times! That'd be cool!" Hunter says.

Scarlet sighs thinking about what she just said then what Hunter just spoke, "Well you have your own unique talents."

Genesis chuckled. "I might offer a paw to shake, but that might be a bit awkward. Now...I think I saw the fox and blue jay go out into the plains?" she offered, jumping up to hurry in that direction. "I do hope that we can convince everyone to stop being so restless. It's like all the animals suddenly want out of this wonderful place!"

"That's true. Scarlet's hearing and Hunter's smell could really come in handy. It's too bad we got lost out here though. We had just seen the others. I hope they're doing well," Jay sighed. Looking around, he tried to ascertain anything familiar in the landscape, but this room seemed abnormally large compared to others. It made him feel like an elephant might really be around the corner.

August beat his wings and took to the air. "We just might. Lead the way!"

"I am sure they are just fine Jay,'' Scarlet tries to comfort the little bird perched on her head, "take one problem at a time such as the feline following us.''
