Hunter catches up to his friends. "Now, where were we heading? What are we looking for? And, why are we running again?" He asks, panting.

August hopped back and let out a surprised squawk. "Oh! Er, yes. Sorry." He spoke once he had regained his composer. "I didn't notice you there. Yes, I'm looking for a red fox and a blue jay. Have you seen them in the area?"

You got lost so i was looking for you.

"As for the running, you can mostly blame Scarlet for that," Jay added with a little huff. Not that he hadn't been panicked too, but they managed to get themselves in quite a mess this way. "I'm glad you managed to catch up with us. By the way, did you see some kind of small...cat or something lurking around? I swear something was watching us earlier.

The black-footed ferret sat down on her bottom, still ghosting that strange smile as she twiddling her fingers. "Hm, yes, I saw them not that long ago. They left in such a hurry, though I don't know why. I'm really, really curious since everyone is so restless here lately. Do you know them...?"

"You're right about that, my dear," Mrs. Mouse chuckled. "The real problem lies in time. How many wrong turns can we make before the monsters find us again? How many wrong turns before they find our friends? More than herself, she was worried about the others who had all gone off in their own directions. And for all the cryptic clues they had received, she didn't think they were any closer to finding the door. As the stairs got lighter toward the top, Mrs. Mouse tapped Gray's leg. "Careful now. I think we've reached the top and I don't want any surprises."

Gray nods, and shortens her pace, but keeping it steady. She glances around her wearily, not trying to draw too much attention to herself. She didn't know if she would be fit enough for a fight if it came to that, but she would give what it would take.

"Small cat thing? Like an actual cat or like a weasel or something? May have. I'm not so sure. I was trying to catch up... I could look around for you. and... maybe we should device a system in case we get separated again. Like... A whistle or ... I don't really know." Hunter says with a sigh.

"No, not yet, but I have some friends that are searching for them... Who might you be?" August inquired.

Scarlet looks up at Jay in the way she could, "You are the one that wanted to run from the wolves as I remember I said we should hide. Yes Hunter but how would we each hear the whistle?"

"... Right... What if we each had a shiny piece of something and reflect the light from the sun - or whatever gives light here - onto it to flash on the ceiling, and communicate that way? Anyone know morse code?" Hunter asks Scarlet cheerfully.

"I know a bit of Morse code but again if the light on the cieling is not in the same room or part of the mengerie it won't work," Scarlet reasons, "that and you're scense of smell is probally better then both of our sight."
