Puck nodded and went off to retrieve a glass of water

"So...if I may ask," Alaska said in a not very happy tone, "why are you holding my sister?"

" But she didn't die with an arrow in her throat this time.. She died, yes, but not in pain.. "

" Because I know how it feels to lose someone I love, or loved.. and all I wanted in those moments were comfort, and I didn't get any. So, I want her to be okay.. and feel cared for, so I comforted her. "

Mav shook his head and stood. "Whatever you say."

"You don't think I know how that feels? To lose someone, almost everyone, important to you? My question o you is this: where were you when I needed comfort? Someone to be there for me?"

She sighed, and walked away. She told him what happened, that was that.

" Alaska... I was there when we found your father as a zombie, I risked my life hunting you down several times to save you from zombies, I comforted you when you told me about being kidnapped, I was there for you when you told me you were pregnant, the only time I have ever left your side wasn't by choice. I was there for you for almost every moment I could be there, and you damn well know it. My question back is, why is it when I need you most you abandon me, but when you need me if I can be there I am? I almost died saving you countless times.. I lost my arm saving you. And yet when things I love died.. you left. " He said, completely calm. " Yell at me if you want to, but it's true.. You know that even if you came back, pregnant by the freak for all I could've cared, I would of still given you my heart, my home to share, and anything you and Maria needed.. but you aren't doing the same. I'm not mad, merely disappointed.. Even when your own family is in grief.. you thought about yourself.. "

David finished, and formed the attachment point, before quenching the blade in a vat of motor oil he'd salvaged.
He set it aside, and got the grinder he'd found out. He clamped the blade in a vise, and sharpened it, putting two sharpened edges on it. Finally, he pulled out a sheath he'd found, and slid the blade into it.
"He're we are," he said, handing the blade to Alaska.

"Um excuse me?" Alaska asked. "Who's the one flirting with other people?" And before he could respond she went to get her blade. She thanked David for making her a blade

"You're very welcome, Alaska," David said.

She examines the blade, amazed at how skilled David was at forging

" I don't flirt with anyone else.. " He mumbled as she left, sighing softly. He went back to comforting Victoria, making sure she was okay.

Puck had the water ready for her when she could finally stand and drink without inhaling it
