Scarlet walks closer to the tree trunk and looks at the paw prints, "Maybe an ocolot or some other kind of cat. Jay this is serious come down here or get away from the tree branches unless you want to be eaten." Scarlet wishes she had listened to Jay sooner.

"An ocelot?!" Jay exclaimed and immediately dropped down onto Scarlet's back. He'd been panicked before but he didn't expect an enemy to pounce from the branches either. The idea gave him the absolute shivers. "But even if it was an ocelot, they left, right? Or maybe they are friendly. I suppose our ragged looks could have scared them off," he added with a nervous laugh. Although, luck hadn't been on their side lately, so there was that.

"Keep your voice low please Jay," Scarlet tries to comfort Jay, "they probally left and hopefully won't come back but just in case let's get to somewhere where we have the advantage instead of the other having it."

"Where would that be?" Jay asked. "I don't think foxes climb trees and we don't know the way back to our friends. I really hope they're looking for us or we might end up split up forever." Still, it was a good idea to find some cover or some advantage. "Maybe if we can find a cave?"

"A cave would be okay but I was thinking an open area that we could not be suprised or snuck up on," Scarlet explains, "Also I can climb trees but it's really not fun to do. Alright can you use your beak to point north since you have a built in compass?"

Jay laughed a bit at the idea of having a built in compass, but he supposed that was exactly right. By instinct, he knew how to get around this menagerie far better than he did by using his brain. Spinning around, he pointed toward north, assuming that magnetic poles were the same here as in the real world. "Alright, it should be that way. And if it's open land, there's quite a bit of it. But won't that make us more of sitting ducks?"

Mrs. Mouse craned her head upwards, trying to see what August could see. "What is it? Did you find the others?" Hopefully, they were alright, but the older mouse had a tingling along her spine that said they may have come into some trouble. "Gray, Loki, hurry up and get Night so we can move along. If Night found something interesting, we might want to go that way first."

"I'm not sure, but I do see water in the direction Grey said she picked up a scent. And where there's water, there are animals!" August called back down. "It may be worth searching."

"Why don't you go on ahead then," Mrs. Mouse called. "The rest of us will be right behind. We have to find our way up there the long way around after all," she added with a chuckle. Still, she had faith that her current group could manage it. "Just be careful out there! Once you get lost in the Menagerie, it's very hard to get unlost!"

August nodded once. "Will do! You stay safe as well." The African Grey parrot replied before gliding ahead.
