Amara Lifted her head slowly and tucked her tail in a bit more After she had caught the name of her Morkko companion " A-amara" she stuttered quietly making eye contact for a brief moment before turning red in the face and looking at her paws again. Her heart was racing the strange thing was she didn't know why she wasn't quite as afraid as she was before, just timid.

Raka smiled back at her, she had a beautiful smile...
"My name is Raka."
There was silence between the two of them... it occurred to Raka that they were all alone, and would be for some time... just as things were beginning to feel awkward their eyes met and Raka suddenly felt like he couldn't speak at all...
"Umm... well, its going to be some time before the others get here. We might as well spend the time getting t know each other better..." Raka instantly regretted his phrasing. "Um, what I mean by that is... I... we should..."
Raka looked back to amethyst who was blushing almost as much as he was. She really was very pretty...

"I am Amethyst." She said turning her face away feeling slightly embarrassed as she felt the blood rush to her face. She looked at Raka and she nodded. She didn't really care if he wanted to get to know her. As long as she didn't blush her heart out she was sure she would be fine.

On a sudden impulse Raka stepped closer to Amethyst and nuzzled her neck and began grooming her coat and mane.

She felt like she should pull away but she couldn't do anything. She couldn't even speak. She felt so much blood rush to her face and looked at Raka. She thought she should be alarmed but she wasn't.

Raka met amethyst's eyes again. They were so close together that he could feel the heat coming from her blushing face.
She didn't say anything, but that didn't matter. He nudged her muzzle delicately with his own.

Amethyst blushed even deeper but she suddenly not on her own nudged him back. Was she really falling in love with a stranger? No she couldn't have but she knew she had. She nudged him again this time on her own.

The two kelpari spent the next few minutes cuddling and grooming one another without speaking.
Raka wasn't exactly sure what he should do next, then he remembered something his quitari mother had told him once. An honest compliment is an easy way to gain a mare's heart...
Raka looked Amethyst in the eyes again. He had been thinking it for some time so he might as well...
"You're really beautiful, you know... I know this is early but, I like you a lot..." The next part was the most difficult to say aloud.
"Amethyst, would you be my mate?"

"I don't think I can say no." Amethyst admitted. "So yes." Amethyst smiled. She felt happiness rush through her. She couldn't believe her crumbled walls that lay at the bottom of her mind. They had once been great and protective but one blow from Raka made them all crumble.

Raka's heart felt light as he smiled back at Amethyst. He leaned in and kissed her, then drew away.
She looked a little surprised. "Sorry, it just felt right I guess." Wanting to keep talking to keep things from becoming awkward again Raka spoke again.
"We... we don't have to have a foal right away, after all I still plan on following the others on this adventure. I have a lot of questions I need the answers too and this is my best chance to do that. It just... wouldn't be safe."
