"Cool, thanks. I'm Maveric and this is Lani." He turned to his sister and told her that she could have the bed. "I'll just sleep on the floor." He remembered once when their family had gone to the amusement park a few states away. They had a family of five, and Lani was the only female child. Maveric and their younger brother, Cash offered to sleep on the floor that night at the motel.

He nodded and turned to them. " Anyone got any good stories? We won't be able to do anything till sunrise and that will be a few hours away. I mean.. " He glanced at Lani " My stories aren't for the faint of heart and I am pretty sure I will be dead by tomorrow if start playing guitar. " He said with a small smile, clearly not ready to die just yet. He looked to Maveric, figuring he might have a few interesting stories? "

Maveric opened his mouth to speak, but Lani cut him off. "In Vietnamese culture, it is essential to properly bury a loved one in their home land so as to ensure their contentment in the afterlife. If not, the belief is that the deceaseds soul will wander aimlessly as it tries to find its way home.
During the Vietnam War, the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong were aware that the conflict would take many fighting far from their home villages, meaning that if they died, they most certainly would end up as wandering souls. U.S. forces exploited these beliefs as a psychological scare tactic.
North American troops created a tape of disembodied, tormented voices and played it on loudspeakers as they flew planes over the jungle. Known as Ghost tape number ten, the fear tactic had been specifically created by sound engineers who drew from methods used for spooky television and radio broadcasts.
The voices some of them children called out to the Vietnamese warning them to flee, lest they end up damned to hell. It worked, and often led to Vietnamese troops running from their positions in a panic, which was precisely what the American troops had hoped for. Even after the Vietnamese soldiers figured out it was a recording played from flyovers, it was so unnerving that they would abandon their posts just to escape the eerie sounds that played on an endless loop throughout the night. Our grandpa fought in that war and told us that story each time we came over until he died from old age," she finished.

He seemed a little unnerved by the whole story, shuddering a little because he thought that it was a cruel thing to do but at the same time a little smart. It was scary to him, he hated the idea of ghosts with a flaming passion because of his brothers always tormenting him with scry ghost stories when he was a lot younger. He looked to her curiously though and still stayed silent as she spoke. After a few moments he started to think again, * If they knew, why did they still get scared? Did they let there imagination get the better of them?* When she finished his expression softened as she mentioned the loss of her grand father and softly said, " I am very sorry for your loss, Lani. She shrugged. "I'm just glad he didn't turn into a zombie." "My turn," Maveric said. "So, there was this one dude, right? Well he was one of the first serial killers. So basically, he threw over 70 people off a building, and the police just figured it was suicide. But then one day he got caught an hanged and they key his brain in a jar. The end." Lani was definitely the storyteller of the family.

Victor laughed a little at the story, noticing that Lani told a story much better and with much more detal then Maveric. " Oh well there goes my good sleep tonight.. oh wait.. I haven't slept good for 3 weeks now... Well never mind that! " He said trying to joke around. " But really that sounds messed up.. why keep a brain in a jar unless to study it in the future unless they did that anyway.. " He said as he almost lost himself in his thoughts yet again. He looked up again after catching himself " So, would you two be interested in hearing a scary story from an old street fighter like myself? "

His voice took on a deeper menacing tone as he told the story. " Well back when I was a junior in high school there was this kid named Robbie.. Now Robbie was an all around jerk to me and my friends along with some other kids. I was a known fighter in the streets by that time so when I found out he was one of the "cage" fighters it peaked my interests. So I found out he was a champion there and hell did I feel challenged by it. So one day I make plans to sign up and use my spare time to practice just a bit more then I usually do. See the thing was is that I knew strength was not all I would be needing this fight so I start watching his patterns in school, seeing how he would throw a hit and take a hit. He was more of a take pain and give it back fighter rather then a block and attack back kind of dude. So when the fight comes I was ready but so was he. He was throwing punches left and right, I was at my end limits and I was no doubt going to lose no matter how hard I had tried to figure out a way to beat him.. Right before he landed the final blow I heard guns firing. As it turns out, he owed someone.. a lot of money.. They found out about the fight and decided it be the perfect time to catch him. So shots were fired, a few people got shot and some even didn't make it. So here this guy is beggin' for his life while I am tryin' to clean the blood from my face as I still didn't know what was goin' down due to blood in my eyes. Well that was the first day I ever saw somethin' so brutal cause they shot him right between the eyes. Never did I go to the cage again and to this very day if they are alive, they think I killed em, was named a hero for it by some peers in school. I was kept a watch on from that group as well. "

Lanis eyes were wide. "Woah..." Maveric was curious and asked, "Was your school rough? I mean, surely there had to be more than one 'tough guy', right?"

He nodded " If he was the only one school woulda been a breeze. He was one of around 50, me included. I'll admit, I held a gun to someone's head before and hadn't a care in the world. He wanted to mess with me and my group I personally went after em' didn't matter to me none. " He said, clearly regretting his choices in the past. " Heck you shoulda seen what I did to guys who messed with my girl.. " He said looking off into the distance. " Well.. she didn't make it. One of the first to die from this hell. "
