Lowell noted his partner's wariness seemed to match his own. He had spent part of the trip sniffing at her, trying to detect any traces of chemicals or other interference.
When he came up empty handed with a bit of a side eye from a guard, he resigned himself to just worrying in silence, at least until he felt his sword pulse strongly in reaction to ..something.

He lifted his head as the guards at the entrance stepped aside, quickly stepping up to his feet and aside as he caught sight of the Empress returning, a bit taken aback at her two traveling companions.
He didn't have much time to think much of it, covering the side of his head as he felt a sharp, sudden headache rip through it, staring briefly at the demonic sword the wolfman kept at his hip. He wasn't sure what to make of it, but it was nothing good, he was sure of that much.

The Empress had noticed the holy knight, and decided not to say anything. At least, until he'd gotten his headache. She could tell right away. She automatically knew why. But she wasn't going to say him. " Give him a room to rest for the knight and I shall have an audience with him in the morning. " She said to the guards as she walked past.

Gallagher watched the holy knight as he passed with the Empress. He didn't feel any pain, but the sight of the man made him...uncomfortable. He figured that the man was some sort of priest. He had a particular dislike towards the priests of the church. They were the strongest force that opposed to him being by the Empress's side.

"I am most gracious, your Excellence."

He muttered quietly, keeping his eyes on the wolf and assassin as they stepped inside.
He only made his way in behind them as a guard escorted him inside, breathing a slight sigh as his headache dissipated almost as soon as it had come on.
He knew the woman's weariness in part had caused it, briefly pondering the amount of stress one such as her must be under ruling an Empire at such a young age.
Es had already heard the rumors whispered about the church of the many attempts on her life and made no attempts to question her.. unusual bodyguards despite their strange energies.
In her position, he surmised he might consider the same.

Lowell followed the Empress inside. He felt his sword immediately calm again, his low rumbling growl dissipating as they exited the angel's aura.
He wasn't sure what had come over him just then, but he found him relieved to now be far from the strange priest's presence.

She walked down the hall towards her chambers, pausing when they reached the door. " I will retire for the night. I suggest you do too. " She said to the two, before opening the door and walking inside. Like magic, the doors closed behind her.

Gallaghers eyes narrowed at the door. It was clear his worry was increasing with every passing moment.

"I don't trust her word alone.
And there should have been no way alone for those assassins to have arrived to her so quickly."
He stared at the door expectantly, but kept his voice low.
"I do not know what is wrong with her personally, but I do not have good feelings about this situation."

" I don't either. " He paused, thinking about something. " What if Diana was not the one who sent them? It would explain how they were so fast. "

He nodded, mulling over the possibility before glancing around the palace hall, uneasy.
"..Who else then would want her dead?"

" There are not that many people who could kill her and benefit from it. As far as I am aware, only 3 people could benefit from her death. "

"And they are?" He motioned Gallagher to follow him back to his own room, not exactly liking the idea of having such a conversation in anyone's earshot. He wasn't exactly liked around here already.
