So soon?
The scent of blood made him growl, leaping from the tree as his fur crackled with electricity. He tackled one of the assassins from a leap, making short work of them with a bite to the jugular.
When he felt the sword of another at his back, he flared the lightning magic further, letting the assassin's own sword electrocute him as he went for his own.

Gallagher took his knife out of the tree and slid to the empress's side. He stabbed one in the throat, tossing the body of his blades.

An assassin ran directly towards Seraphina, and she heated up her sword, dodging the way of his knife and slicing cleanly through their armor, cutting them in half then swiftly moving on to the next one.

His electricity fizzled along the grass as he swung his sword into the body of another, catching the graze of another sword across the muzzle with a bit of a yelp as it threw him back.
He gripped the side of his face in his hands, kicking the assassin to the ground as he tried to finish the wolf off. He wasted no time in plunging his own sword through the man's back, resisting the urge to tear him limb from limb as his own blood trickled down his clawed fingers.
He panted, trying to catch his breath as he pushed himself through the pain to meet the next blade that dare come his way.

He couldn't get tired, not yet anyway. 2 assassins ran at him. He stabbed one in the eye, pulling the entire thing out before turning and stabbing the other in the mouth.

One of their swords had grazed her cheek, causing a faint trickle of blood to go down. She stabbed that particular assassin in the chest, moving onto the next one before she could see their body fall limp.

He dropped his now-bloody hand, checking the area for any other would-be assassins. The swordfighting had likely attracted the attention of the guards outside by now.

Indeed it did. They could already hear many guards approaching them, up to see what all the commotion was about.

Seraphina flipped one of the bodies, taking off a pin from the collar and examining it. "The assassin's guild. Was this Diana's work? "

He went wide-eyed. Had they been too late?
"Your Majesty, had they attempted to leave anything on your person?"
He inquired, wary of the guards, but holding his ground. He hoped it wouldn't matter with the presence of the Empress herself.

" ...No. " She casted a glance to the guards, signaling for them to stand down. She stood up. " Lets return to the palace. "

He breathed a sigh, whether that was out of apprehension or relief, he wasn't too sure himself. He just hoped she was right as he acknowledged the command with a nod and began on his way back to the palace.

Ezael Edros
After having spent the last few hours assisting a distraught elven prince and his knight finally hunt down a winged horse, Es found himself quite exhausted as he returned to the steps of the palace once again bleary-eyed.
Not only had his meeting with the Empress been delayed due to such shenanigans and others, it would likely have to now wait until the morning with the Empress' departure for the night.
Es had already made several attempts to enter the palace with the church scroll he had been given but between his general naivety on the situation and haphazard attempts at explaining himself, the guards that remained to guard the front were more than skeptical.
He took a seat on the bottom of the steps, resting his forehead in his hands with a bit of a sigh.

Gallagher silently followed the Empress back to the palace, watching her for any sudden movements. He wasn't entirely sure if she was okay, because as of recently, she hadn't been getting her meals nor sleep properly. It was very worrying for someone such as himself, who has devoted themselves to serving her.
