Raka stared into the eyes that seemed to be invisible to all but him and felt an almighty rage rise within him."Not you. Not again. You DARE to return here you traitor!"

Without a second thought Raka plunged back into the churning water and swam faster than he ever had before to the aid of his fellows, passing so close to Mermydon that he could see his reflection in Mermydon's eyes.

The prince was poised and ready reflecting momentarily upon his foalhood, under the cruel enslavement of these monsters and what they could do to them. These creatures' watery bodies locked in every atom and molecule of free oxygen, allowing them to suffocate air and water breather alike. They could summon schools of fish and water sprites to attack them, and worse convert fish into inedible, toxic water sprites. Plus there body was as shapeless as the water it was made from, so their reach could extend so long as they could draw water into themselves to strike safely from distance. Their abilities were equally as impressive. They could convert themselves into different phases of water, but not into steam Nor did the phases change temperature; it was an oddity. Also, they could control the flow and movement of water and water vapor for nearly a thousand foot radius.

But that last ability, as Mermydon learned, was also their greatest weakness. The lateral lines could transmit electromagnetic impulses throughout all of that controlled fluid in water and air and elementals had no way to sense these. Only their water sprites could sense them, but were unable to interpret them. And Mermydon used that information now to communicate as much of this information as he could to his fellow kelparie and any sylvorpa willing to lend a hoof in the fight.

He had hoped further that Metal or Grim Rose were being receptive to his thoughts and learn some of this as well.

Kanakwella stayed close beside trying her best to attack the 'water sootsprite' heroine knew what it was and most of her powers were weak against it "Everyone out of the water!" heroine shouted "i think i can make my magic so it shocks a thunderbolt out of the sky!" heroine did't want anyone to get shocked by electricity kanakwella was scared and not really the fighting type so she got out and hid leaving aleria and the two stallions to their choice

Flying was an exhaustive, but necessary exercice. His fin-wings buzzed like a hummingbird but gave him lift for flight, the real trick was keeping his tail stiff and back straight in order to rudder functionally. Mermydon didn't have time to dip back into the lake before the massive elemental rose to the surface of the lake, it hadn't achieved the shelf yet and was already 50 feet above the surface. The prince wasn't more than 20 or 30 feet higher up; but still an advantage gained on the creature and a superb view of the battle scene. Already a few more nomad kelparie were converging to assist and he could sense many sylvorpa coming to their aid at the very least buying them time by impeding the water sprites. Fishes had started scattering to the far side of the lake and it would only be a matter of time before the elemental decided to use them like pawns unless they got further out of range fast The elemental was facing the shore, but then looked up at Mermydon. The prince opted to bark orders before starting his assault. "Don't worry about the denizens in the water Heroine, use that magic so long as our allies aren't on the surface." He told her and hoped that Dhuka got the message as well. "If they are, then protect your future queen." He then looked toward Kanakwella since the elemental hadn't begun to form limbs. "Kanakwella, swim out as far as you can and chase the fish to the far side of the lake as fast as you can. No fish, no new sprites. Please go!" He didn't say it, but that little action by itself could help win the day for them; he expected she would catch it through her lines though. "I think Raka, the lady morkko and I can keep it's attention while the others concentrate on the assault!" No sooner had he finished speaking than a watery arm extended out from the creature to pound Mermydonmid air! It was an expected result that Mermydon countered by bringing his fin-wings in close to his body and letting gravity drop him out of the sky and into the elementals body. Just before splashdown he closed his gullar plates and mouth and to those observing his descent, his mane began to brighten as the sunlight. the maelstrom like effect of the elementals body spun him about until he came to the center of it and he fanned out to slow his spin and unleashed Beams of light from out of the pearl facets of his armor and helm. He saw Aleria and pointed the beam directly at her, transferring some of the elemental's life energy into warm healing light that engulfed her. When the elemental detected the bleed off in hislife energy he ejected Mermydon from his body out into the lake.

Seeing himself reflected in Mermydon's eyes, Raka was given the most brief glance at his own appearance.

Glowing runes covered his body, which seemed to emanate a power eerily similar to that of the water elemental. For some reason this did not surprise Raka. Mermydon on the other hoof seemed so taken aback that he stopped dead and stared at Raka in utter confusion.

"There is no time to be gawking at eachother." Raka breached the surface of the water and turned his attention to Heroine. "Remain prepared to strike, but only as a last resort there is only the slightest chance that such an attack would have any effect other than to kill all other living creatures within the lake!"

Re submerging Raka returned to a still stunned Mermydon. "You are a more effective leader than I, you have earned their trust. Follow your instincts and command the others as you see fit."

And with that, before Mermydon could respond Raka swam straight into the heart of the watery form.

Even this far upstream it was impossible not to know what was happening at the lake. Kipper had experienced this before, the terrifying power of the elemental seemed to permeate her entire body.
Yet she had no fear.

Determined to help in any way possible and with total disregard for the fact that was her exceptionally small size, she swam towards the lake as fast as she could her small body providing her the crucial advantage of speed. So much so that she nearly ran into a full grown kelpari mare, for she was going so fast she had somehow managed to not see her.

Metal knew Grim Rose had to let her guard down and let him help her. Metal still wanted her to be his mate but he knew he had to wait. Grim Rose shook her head and then she created daggers made of shadows. Metal helped her out and threw the daggers with such force. Grim Rose test the orb she got from Mermydon suddenly she was in control of a different power. "Metal we have to do this once okay never again!" Grim Rose growled. She stepped closer to them so that they could share half the power but she stepped into him and they became one entity but it could only last for a while or else it would be mating which she knew Metal would make her fail so it would happen. She shuddered at the thought. Her orbs became insync with Metal's and the orb from Mermydon was in between one of their orbs.

They worked together but Metal made sure she messed up a lot. She felt like killing him for this but she wouldn't for somehow she wanted him. Suddenly she knew it was over. Metal had his desire and she could do nothing about it. Grim Rose finally had control and fought as best as she could. The shadow daggers hit the water but when they hit they basically made the water darker until some found the unknown creature. Grim Rose fought back Metal from the inside knowing he wanted something else. Most likely kisses or to continue the mating who knew. All he knew was Grim Rose was going to have to become his mate now because if she didn't Metal would find a way to convince her even if it meant waiting till she had the egg. Grim Rose knew his thoughts and said "Metal I give up you win" inside the body they shared. Suddenly she tore from Metal though she was forced to break a unknown link that was meant to finish the breeding yet when she pulled away she felt great pain. Metal looked at her concerned.

"Grim Rose come back I can stop it." Metal insisted until she came back. Somehow the pain vanished. She relaxed and Metal took control of fighting. Metal fought not as strongly but he was still strong. He felt Grim Rose accept him and he knew it because she no longer seemed to fight as viciously like before. "Metal try hardening the daggers in your mind it will be more effective." Grim Rose said. "Also I know I am now your prisoner basically. But finish it up unless you want me to die from pulling away." Metal laughed and his spirit on the inside nuzzled her and he found she didn't shy away from him. "It's over but stay with me. Not inside or outside just stay with me no matter what. Grim Rose will you say my real name for me. I know you will say it better than me." Grim Rose whispered his name and He smiled. Grim Rose pulled away and she tried to fight on her own.
