"No," Maveric said firmly. "You wouldn't. Enough of that 'I'll be fine' crap. I know you won't, and apparently, it's because of me. I run into my high school fling and everything goes downhill. Both of you basically hate me now, and..."

"Oh, really? And why would that be?"

" I don't hate you Maveric, I hate that you led me on and didn't tell me that their might be someone else out there. Instead, you just do what ever you wanted to and then went back to this girl out of the blue not even talking to either of us like an adult would. "

" Because I might know of something that can make everything easier. "

"Well, in my defense I have the maturity of a two, maybe three year old. And I could've sworn that I watched her die...And when she came back...surely you can understand why I was surprised and glad, to see her?"

"Oh, really?" Alaska asked, wondering what Victor might be thinking of.

Rose sighed, " Yeah.. I understand.. but you didn't have to kiss her, or anything like that.. " She said in a sad, small voice.

" Yeah, but it is a surprise.. "

An idea sparked in Maveric's idea. Back when he was a little kid and his parents had been arguing or his mom had been sad or down, his dad just went in and kissed her, and so that's exactly what Maveric did, hoping that Rose wouldn't get mad at him

"Well then you better hurry back," she said, half joking

Rose was a little surprised, and still unsure, but she gently kissed him back, accidently leaning into him as her arms wrapped around his neck.

" You know I hate being away for long anyway. "

Maveric was surprised that she didn't pull back and smack him but you wouldn't hear him complain. He wrapped his arms around her waist

"Yeah, that's true."

Rose continued to kiss him, but there was a certain desperation to her kiss.. she wanted this to never end but she knew it would like always.

" I will be back within the week. "

Maveric could feel her desperation and wished he could help somehow, but then he realized that by doing this he was probably just digging himself deeper into the hole he was stuck in

"Okay, good. Now go so you can be back sooner."

( Yes Maveric, yes you are. )

Rose was first to pull away, looking at him for a moment before quietly saying, " I-I should probably dry off and go.. " She said before pulling away from him and walking off into the locker area of the showers.

Victor smiled and gave Alaska a gentle peck on the lips, " Love you. " He said before going into his room and grabbing a bag before leaving.
