and in castle of illusions (during the aladin levels) Mickey can swim in something that looks suspciously like lava and as long as he doens't touch the bottom he'll be totally fine!

And you wouldn't be able to sink in lava irl if I remember correctly. Lava is denser than you.

the 'squids' in splatoon 1&2 aren't 'squids' but rather evolved humans that can shift form when in contact with whatever the 'ink' substance is.
