As Elysetta spoke, Malak continued to pace. He was considering their options while he listened to her, but as soon as she had fully laid out her plan he stopped in his tracks so suddenly the scarf across his face nearly came loose. He hastily secured it more tightly and then spun to stare at her, eyes wide.
"Shrink me?" he asked, perhaps a little more loudly than he intended, "You're going to shrink me?" Her pinched the bridge of his nose between his fingers, a particular habit of his. "So what exactly am I supposed to do once you do this? How am I supposed to find my way around? How am I to be unshrunk if we fail?"

At your distress, a slight grin lifted her face. "Yeah, shrink you. Fairy coves can fit inside of bushes, Malak. I'm not gonna shrink you until you're close, of course! And if you fail, we'll have a place you can go to to meet up with me and I'll undo it. Nice and easy," she answered.

Malak continued to stare at her in disbelief for a moment. After a few seconds he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He need to regain his composure. He had told her he would help her, and now he was bound by his word. Even if he wished to back out, which he found he did not, his honor compelled him forward.
"My apologies," he said, "You caught me off guard. I grew up knowing little of magic. I suppose the next thing is to simply ask where your clan resides."

Malak regarded her blankly. Was she serious? Yes, she was definitely serious, he could see it on her face. Well, why not? He was already getting shrunk, why not add "learn how to fly" to the task.
"Well," he said, trying to keep his nerves from coloring his tone, "Which direction does this tree lie?"

Malak watched her walk away, for a moment considering the choices that lay before him. He had just met this woman, and now he had committed himself to a mission which could potentially get him killed, he was not naive enough to believe otherwise. This world he was entering was vastly different form his own, and he would have to learn the rules. One thing was for sure, he had no choice now but to...

You follow Elysetta through the forest to just outside a small alcove with one large tree in the center. She turned towards you. "I can't enter the alcove because they'd recognize me. I don't know how you're going to get into the tree... I mean. I can try to magic you up a pair of wings you can use for maybe ten to twenty minutes," she told you, looking doubtful. "Want me to try?" she asked.
