(Lol, I'm not surprised and yeah ice cream probably exists in some form xD)

He waves you a cheery farewell.
Well, ice cream probably isn't the healthiest thing to eat for breakfast. You are feeling slightly hungry, but it's nothing stopping you from going to the library, either, despite not knowing exactly what you'd look up in the library. It's not like there's a section called "What to do when you wake up yesterday".

(Man, I must be tired. I kept spelling your username Larkiem.)

I look around the library. Might as well look in both fiction and nonfiction.

I begin looking around for a librarian.

"Yeah, we should be good as long as we don't... blow anything up in there, I guess. It's good that you already have a lot of stuff in your shop, we might draw attention to ourselves if we go out trying to buy them. Hopefully, we won't need anything else." She wanders over to the glass cases, examining their contents with curiosity, "There should be at least couple guides or dictionaries to materials and their uses in magical crafting, if there's one specific to metals and crystals, even better."
There are far too many titles on the shelves to find what you're looking for just from a skim, but they're listed alphabetically, if that helps.

(Pfft I've done that too haha)

The librarian is sitting at the front desk to the left of you when you enter. "Hello, how can I help you today?" she asks politely when you enter. "Looking for anything in particular, or just browsing? New arrivals are over there, if you're looking for those," she adds, nodding at a shelf behind you.

"I'll see what I can find....." I immediately begin scanning the shelves for the keywords 'metals', 'gemstones', or the like.

Oh well. Always up for a change in plans. I walk over to the "New Arrivals" selection, hoping to find maybe a cookbook or perhaps a SciFi book. Or, maybe even a book about waking up yesterday.

You find a book titled A Comprehensive History and Guide to the Use of Rare Metals in Alchemical Crafting. It's probably old, not particularly user-friendly, or both, judging by the worn, plain leather cover and the fact that no one calls magic alchemy anymore. You figure it's what you're looking for, though.

The section has assorted books in various genres sorted by alphabetical order rather than genre, but you soon enough find a glossy new cookbook with an exotic looking dish on the front. You don't even recognize any of the ingredients in it.
There are no sci-fi or waking-up-yesterday books, but you notice a rather old-looking novel lying haphazardly on top of the shelf like someone lazily put it back.

"....here's an older one," I report, taking note of the book's location. "As in, likely quite old."

"Doesn't matter, it probably still has all the information we need," Siara says. "The uses don't change but the terminology might be different, though, so if you want a newer one you can look for it. Wow, I wonder how the library got their hands on enchanted items? They're not dangerous, but that's still really interesting." She points at the objects in the cases she's looking at.

Take the book or look for a more recent one?

I decide it's probably good enough. Carefully removing the book from the shelves- it IS quite old and I don't want to damage it- I glance to the cases Siara is pointing at. "Yeah..... they're pretty rare around here, right?"
