As if Malak needed anymore convincing that his meeting this woman was not a coincidence,
her response to his question caused his eyes to widen ever so slightly. It was still hard for him to fathom the situation he now found himself in, speaking to a woman in such an open way, being so far away from home,
it was a lot to take in.
"You enjoy speaking in riddles," he said casually, leaning against the tree once more, his eyes alight with a touch of humor, "And yet our similarities seem to be accumulating by the minute."

(Ah, sorry, I didn't make something clear I think. It is your job to choose, and my job to decide what happens~. You are unable to write out what happens like that, as that is my position. I am not gonna give you a strike, however, as this was ultimately my fault; my last post to you should have contained options, but alas, I didn't ahah.)

She chuckled softly. "Perhaps I have been alone for too long. And what do you mean, similarities? As I recall, you haven't told me a thing about yourself except you're foreign," she pointed out.

Malak found himself becoming more and more comfortable around the pixie woman. He had also been alone for some time, and even before he had left home his life had held few positive interactions with others. It felt...relaxing to just have a conversation with someone.
"Perhaps we both have," he mused, "But you are correct, I have not given you any details of my situation. Since you were trusting enough to tell me some about yourself, vague though they may have been, allow me to illuminate you slightly." Malak took a very deep breath and let it out slowly.
"I have voluntarily left my homeland, for reasons of my own, though were I to return I'm sure I would very likely be killed. So you see, we are both homeless, both have broken the rules of our people, and both are now destined to never return."

The pixie cocked her head to the side now. "I see. All of this information you have kept to yourself," she teased. "Are you able to tell me your name, if you have one?"

It was Malak's turn to chuckle slightly, a sound which had not come from him in a very long time.
He found him self in awe of her foreign beauty. As she cocked her head, her hair shifted and caught the light, seeming to flicker like flames.
"We are not taught to be very open among my people," he explained, shifting his weight a little, "And allowing an outsider to know my name would be in violation of my teachings." He paused for just a moment, hardly able to believe what he was about to, before standing up and stepping towards her. "But, seeing as how I will never be allowed to return home, I don't see that it matters much at this point. My name is Malak Khaleel." He bowed slightly at the waist again.

Obviously more relaxed now, the pixie even grinned as you violated your ways. "Hello, Malak Khaleel," she greeted you officially. "I was once known was Elysetta," she revealed to you.

Instead of feeling troubled as he had anticipated, Malak felt as though a large weight had been removed form his shoulders as he so openly shunned the ways of his people. It made his situation seem much more real, and yet also made it seem much less daunting.
"Once known?" he inquired politely, "As in you no longer go by that name? That would be a great shame, as it is quite a beautiful name."

Elysetta gave a small shrug. "I haven't been known for quite some time now, is all," she answered.

Malak had been raised to believe all women were beneath him. After a certain age he was not even allowed to listen to the instructions of his own mother. Yet, seeing such a vibrant person look so dragged down made his heart feel heavy. He knew how it felt to not feel known...
"How long have you been away from home?" he asked after a pause, "Is that...why your feathers a falling?"
He was unsure what made him ask that, but somehow he knew he was correct.
