She keeps pace with you easily enough despite you being a half foot taller than her. You catch a few suspicious looks as you walk through the streets, but you make it to the library without incident. It's honestly a pretty impressive building on its own, though it doesn't get nearly as many visitors as the smaller shops and businesses around it.

"Here we are, then," I shrug with the ghost of a smile on my face. "....shall we go in?"

(What is with people in this RPG and researching weird history
Also btw it happened on the 12th but you wake up a day berore that)

It had been a pretty regular day as far as it went. You'd just returned from the library when the urge to draw something struck you, and you had one foot out the door when it began. The first thing you noticed was that the books on the table were... flickering? Then they vanished completely, leaving only the void behind, as if it and everything around it were actually a 2-D image that had burned out.
You heard a faint sizzle over your head to see the doorframe above your head disappewring similarly, and this time the black rushed down, engulfing you in seconds...
The next thing you know, you wake up in your bed, and everything is once again perfectly normal. Everything about what just happened makes it seem like it had to have been a dream, but it sure doesn't feel that way from what you remember...

What will you do?

The Outlands are usually a peaceful place, at least to you. Some Fantasians might call them boring, so far away from the bustle of the main part of the city, but that was probably exactly why you enjoyed it. And since your mentor was sick, this was the next best thing, plus your dogs loved it too.
You thought it was odd that the trees looked kind of warped, though. And that it was eerily quiet. And your dogs had suddenly started growling at nothing. And that the bird you were watching out of the corner of your eye just disappeared- wait, what?
The next thing you know, it's all chaos but with no one around, the sky is dark, the trees are shattering into a million pieces, your dogs are gone (rip), something is crashing down next to you, and now you're falling because the ground beneath your feet is disappearing...
Blinking, you find yourself lying down in bed, nowhere near the Outlands. You think you were awakened by the sound of your dogs barking downstairs as they usually do when they're hungry for breakfast. There's nothing to suggest that whatever scene you just witnessed two seconds ago was real, but you're still panicked as if you'd simply been transported from there and then to here with no time in between...

What do you do?

The Flashing Lights are the most recent known major occurence at the lighthouse, occurring only six months prior to the writing of this book. The incident happened as follows:
An anonymous observer was having a nighttime stroll on the beach, near the lighthouse. Despite the lighthouse not having been in use for around a century, they claim that on this night, they saw the light inside steadily blinking on and off with a static rhythm. Even stranger, a similar pattern of lights was seen emitting from an unknown source across the ocean like an "echo" to that of the lighthouse. The observer also believes they heard several indistinct murmuring sounds from within the lighthouse during this time, but admit that this could have been confused with the sound of the waves or something else in their panic, as they fled the scene soon after due to "not being stupid enough to investigate further".

He nods at a shelf at the other end of the store. "Crackers are there, there's a pretty large variety so take what you want." He shrugs noncommittally like he doesn't really care what you do, he's just bored.

Evan heads over to the crackers and just grabs 2 packs of unsalted soup crackers. "I'll take these please! Where did you say the store for the soup was?"

(Yay I found a picture)

He shakes it somewhat awkwardly. "Delighted to meet you, Trox, I've really got to get going, my shift is almost over." He waves over a man who's stopped by to buy a paper, then adds, "See you around. Or, depending on where I'm sent next, maybe not." He chuckles.

(OMG KITTENS WHERE)

"What else are we going to do, throw a party?" she asks with a laugh as she hurries past you to open the door. "We'll want to head to the magic section, I'm sure there's at least multiple books on what we're looking for."
