Lowell rose his eyes to meet the Empress' before dropping a respectful bow to her. His face still remained emotionless, without even a tinge of fear in his eyes.

She stared down at the two of them. " You are dismissed, Gallagher. "

" Yes, your majesty. " He stood and walked out the room, the doors closing behind him. But he didn't leave, and simply waited for them to finish.

"Greetings, your Majesty. I take it the rest of your evening went well then?"
He straightened his posture as he folded his arms squarely across his chest. It was clearly said as a bit of humor, but his deadpan delivery was almost smug.

" Quite well. But we're not here to talk about my evening. We're here to talk about you. Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now and hang you on a wall. " she said. Her patience was very thin at the moment, and his tone of speech along with the way he held himself didn't help.

He seemed somewhat disinterested and his tone remained icy. It didn't seem disrespectful so much as.. hollow and morose? He almost seemed uncomfortable himself as much as he tried to mask it.
"So I am here to beg for my life then?
You are free to take it at your leisure, your Majesty. It's been a wasted one anyways.

But as I told you last night, I don't have any malice towards you or your Empire. I simply needed the money to survive in this kingdom since I've been long ousted from my own.

He dropped his arms.

She stared at him with her frosty blue eyes, and one name came to mind. " ...Lowell Brichalles. How sad that someone of your stature has become a disposable pawn for that wench. "

To hear his own name again after a year or so was almost refreshing.. He'd grown accustomed to pseudonyms, but he was beginning to feel that he lost a bit more of himself with every passing moon.
He hung on it for a moment before mulling over the rest of Seraphina's statement.

Disposable pawn? As expected. At least now he knew for sure, but that still left the matter of his employer..
He was still admittedly very curious about who could possibly want to see the Empire of Arkaos fall.

" The imperial consort Diana. The woman who hired you to take my life, and put her son on the throne. I doubt she had any intention of paying you, and was most likely going to take your life once the deed was done. "

"Diana.." Lowell committed the woman's name to memory. He made an effort to keep a personal log of unsavory employers to deal with on the side.
"More than likely. I am not familiar with her personally but I had heard rumors before of her actions among the cityfolk. If I had known the job had come from a snake like her, I would have never followed it."

" Good to hear that. It would be best to not take any actions of your own against her. She has a very keen way of...twisting the truth. " She replied. He would be of use to her in the future. It would be best not to take his life. Not yet, anyway.
