There used to be a time where everything was so plentiful that by the end of a 2 week Festival, epic and legendary items were completely worthless and everyone had one. At that time, a lot of players complained that there was little value in trying to farm or sell the items because they had no value. Or that they would get everything they wanted within a few days or the first week and then not care to play for the remainder of the Festival.

Unfortunately, you cannot have it both ways. I feel that there is a good balance in how things are set up now. They are rare, yes, but not unobtainable. For the items you get, they will have value and can be kept or traded for other items of value that you may want. It also keeps plays active for the full duration of the Festival because they feel that there is always more to do. To me, this is a positive; not a negative.

Krin, I realize that the rates were copy and pasted, but... There really is a huge difference that we, the players, are seeing, despite that. I haven't spoken to anyone who is having good luck with Themed, and some (like me) are having truly horrid luck.

I do have to wonder though, how this Fest's caught Themed compare to last Fest's caught Themed at this point, and if they are the same.... where are they all?

One or two people experiencing terrible luck would be one thing, but.... it just seems like the RNG hates everyone this fest, which... for a random generator shouldn't happen. :/

I took a careful look at the numbers from this Festival so far in comparison to the Spring Festival for the same period of time.

There are a few things that I noticed that are contributing to this perception.

The first is that there have been less total battles for the Summer Festival than there were for the same time period of the Spring Festival. Less battles = less encounters = less total Themed Pets = perceived as more rare.

Second, the amount of Themed Pets encountered compared to the ones actually caught are significantly higher for this festival than last. Meaning, a lot more Themed Pets so far this festival have been uncaptured for one reason or another when compared to the last festival. This is also contributing to the perception.

Third, and probably the biggest issue, especially on an individual level, is that the Summer Festival zone offers no Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Egg Hunt would give players a decent chance at encountering a guaranteed Themed Pet when roaming through it and an extra chance at finding a Themed Egg. This is filling the remaining gap for the perception that Themed Pets are more rare.

In terms of just roaming through the festival explore area and encountering Themed Pets, the chances of doing so this festival are identical to last festival. However, everything else taken into account is making it seem like Themed Pets are more rare.


As such, I have gone ahead and tweaked Themed Pet spawn rates in the festival zone in an attempt to adjust for the lack of the Easter Egg Hunt feature that the previous numbers were based on. As I said earlier, it was just copy and pasted from last festival.

I hope this will help people find more of what they are looking for for the remainder of the festival.

Hopefully that helps, I just went thru 2 perfumes, and only encountered one theme. Sooo, bummed, but I am really glad you took a look and adjusted as needed, hopefully players will be able to acquire themes they havent gotten yet.

did it get harder to trap themed pets? i have encounter several several ran or i had to kill becaus of taking so many traps (not all of them) with my last run with perfume i found 4 themed 2 of them cost a lot of traps where the other 2 did stay with first or second trap. maby it is just my bad luck with them so fare but i just can't remeber during other fesitvals they being so nasty with trap eating.
