I'm keeping the explanations as mild as possible.

O Light- The song kinda made me feel like she was okay (hence the color and light at the tips), but fell completely into darkness (hence the rest)


Corpse Dance- How it sounded so happy, but it got dark as soon as you read the lyrics.. The leaves are the people dancing their way to the underworld.


I'm Sorry I'm Sorry- This is Daddy.


MAWARU- "If you remove your head, the dance will forgive you!" <- has nothing to do with the design, but it sounds like something I'd say ._. the song reminded me of the morphlings from the Hunger Games series... Have you read the Hunger Games series?


Love Me, Love Me, Love Me- I believe butterflies are in the video. Also, nixis are the most popular/most loved species.

-Ryori are ghosts but in this instance I envisioned it more as possesed corpse like the lyrics.

O Light- I wanted to do the deer and incorporate the colors from the video. Also the general spikey, jagged feel a lot of things had



Useless Child- This is the child. The scars more represent the effect the mother's words had on him, and possibly implicates some darker things.



I'm sorry, I'm sorry- I read this song a lot differently than you did actually! I'd rather not go into full detail because its rather dark, but I decided to make the child in this one too. The song had a very innocent and childish point of view, and also hearts. uwu



Love me Love me Love me- I decided to do an Aeri because snakes seemed to be wrapped around the girl in the video. I also went with the rose mutation since its often a symbol of romance. I did corruption because it seemed like her view of love was very distorted and that's all she was focused on.

This is my entry for "O Light," which made me think of the Greys:

To me, the lyrics suggested the nightmare horrors that can come with sleep paralysis. Some psychologists believe that sleep paralysis hallucinations are responsible for the concept of the Grey Aliens, or Greys. Sylvorpas have always seemed the most alien-looking of Sylesties to me, so I chose that species. The lack of color, except for the weird yellow-green, is due to sleep paralysis hallucinations typically appearing in the sleeper's room. In other words, the sleeper knows they are in their bedroom, and in the hallucination, they see their actual room, as it really is (mostly dark), but the "sight" of the intruder is superimposed upon the dim room. The sleeping mind "knows" that one cannot see colors in dim light!

Pretty obvious, I hope. The Diamonds represent the****** culture elements, because Western culture associates diamonds with engagement rings (which may have been derived from an older custom that showed that a man's betrothed was his future property).



"A Happy Death"

Oops, sorry, that first one was an earlier version. Using bones was just too easy. This is supposed to be a happy death, so we have fancy stuff, bright, lively colors, floating hearts...but all the colors, as they are combined, are nauseating, like poison. The horizontal lines represent forward movement, into death. The death imagery continues in the Astral Wings and in the corpse-white eyes. Also I decided to use the female Puff, because her smile adds the perfect touch of incongruity.

I love how you could blend all the main colors together without it looks patriotic and while looking balanced and so dark still! I think it's fantastic! You made me love the tentacles trait on an aeri which I never thought I could do haha! I think it perfectly represents the song and the fading light was a nice touch

I loved the colorful yet innocent look of it with the dark undertones, I think it fits perfect :) The song was very upbeat and positive and energetic feels but the lyrics, what it was implying and referring to was do dark and swallowing people, happily marching towards their death with smiles on their faces

I love how plain and simple it was kept and showing the scars and more of a raggy looking appearence. The thing about the child the mother didn't like is he was simple and useless, not got for anything so a sylesti that is simple and could probably be found in the wild I think is a good representation of that C: congrats!!

I love how you incorporated your own life experience with a frog into the design! It was a nice touch and the sick yellow kinda helped capture the twisted, sick lyrics of the song I think

So I'm going to do something a little different here, since there weren't as many entries and I seem to be running short haha, Watercolors can pick who this prize goes to since I just think her Zolnixi perfectly captured this song, it wasn't really dark but more of an innocent craving for an end. The craving for the light beyond what this world can offer. Kind of a ghostly feel to it

Pegacorn8, That Vulnix design for O Light was just awesome, if the aeri didn't stea my heart that would have been my next pick! I love your explanation about the light fading out on the tips of the wings and how she fell into darkness, I think you hit the song spot on :)
Your corpse dance design was also pretty high up there on my list, I really loved the idea of the petals being the people dancing their way into the void, I think you put a lot of thought into all your designs and it definitely showed!

AliceHearts, I love the choice of Draeyl for the song, and I like the brown coloring instead of black, it reminds me of dried blood and sickening kind of feels, I think it goes well with the lyrics and events. And the lack of black and chains or bones is refreshing! haha Very well done!!

Puppythechan, I really like the Lunemara design for Useless child, I think it really shows the innocent nature of the child that the caretaker/mother couldn't see until it was too late. It could also be a more ghostly feel for the ending of the song after the child died and was gone.

SpaceElf1, I really like the Sylvorpa design for O Light, and I really love your explanation for it too, I never thought about sleep paralysis but it really makes a lot of sense! Really interesting :)
