Obviously the entrance door was locked to prevent the numbers to escape, unlocking it would trap you outside without any way to go back into the experiment. Before you could even attempt to do anything Eight had caugh you and throw you away from it growling dangerously.

You manage to hear somthing about someone called Zero, before the number vanish in a hurry, the girl heading toward the living area. She tried to follow the girl, "Hello?"she huffed, why was everyone moving so fast? Where they going insane? oh well, she had to collect everyone up.

As you aproach the others volunteers you saw a vague shape moving away from them. It seem like the numbers were use to not be visible at all time.

The thing vanish, leaving you alone with the others volonter. The feeling of being watch didn't leave the area, like if there was eyes all over the facility looking at your evry moves.

i wince and get up still holding the flashlight in my hands and still pointing it towards the floor although i had raised it a little bit. "EIGHT THAT HURT!" I yell
